Surprising activities of the 70s we lived through!

I can relate to this list:

The way things are going, every kid is going to go to school wearing bubble wrap and a helmet. Back in the 1970s (and earlier), parents didn't stress about our health and safety as much as they do today. It’s not that they cared less – they just didn't worry compulsively about it. Parents of 2014 need to be reminded of how less restricted, less supervised, less obsessively safety-conscious things were... and it was just fine...

We not only survived, we thrived!
No therapy, no coddling, we ate sugar loaded candy and soft drinks, we watched "violent " cartoons and shows like Looney Toons and the Three Stooges, and played games like kickball and tackle football until the street lights came on!
      It was a better world....

Smoking on planes, remember that one, with just a curtain to divide the sections. I once had a few to many and rolled a joint and smoked it on the plane in my seat, didnt get caught, just the stewardess couldnt figure out where the smell was coming from

Yeah, we were pretty unprotected, and I wouldn't have changed a thing. It made us tough. Today's kids are so sheltered physically and emotionally, they're completely unprepared for those unpleasant things that happen in life.

I drank from my garden hose last weekend and developed an extra testicle from the DDT runoff mixed with the fluoride, mercury, and lead. Was hoping for an extra hand.

Back in the 70's almost the entire country was a garbage dump.

I remember seeing fast food wrappers EVERYWHERE alongside ALL roads.

If that wasn't bad enough sometimes you'd see an old couch, refrigerator or washing machine too
