I have met some of the greatest people here, some I have tried to be friendly and start a conversation with no replies , that's the down side of me not being at the cool table I guess ? I miss a lot of stuff to comment on just the way I search the forms, I only use the "new post" section, sometimes there's a whole page , sometimes just a couple of items. Hope I have never done anything to make you feel slighted .

This is exactly what I do 99% of the time I visit this group. The handy little Green Arrow bookmarks threads in which I have already commented, and these are typically the ones I consider opening first; oftentimes, I merely peruse the Subject Title of each topic and -- if nothing strikes my fancy -- I move along and accomplish something else online. I rarely ever open up the Archives (i.e., the regular Forum Section) to browse older Topics that I have never seen, and even those I am only seeking out information most useable to my immediate needs (discussion of a single figure or line; various customizing ideas; etc.). As I work more and more with the 8" figures, I will undoubtedly dig deeper and deeper in search of more archival information -- I anticipate refreshing several "Necroposts".

My Strawberry Shortcake posts generally don't get a lot of replies. Doesn't stop me from posting about them though. Mostly out of spite. Mwhahahaha!
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Maybe if you stand there naked then people will pay attention?

I've been standing here naked for over 12 hours now. For those who are going to attempt this approach to maximizing thread replies, it doesn't work and it really backfires with friends and family.

I am suddenly very happy this Group does not have a Skype function.

I've been a fan/member of the site for years. I'm kinda shy and have never posted much, but I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. I have no (real-world) friends who collect Megos, even though they love my collection... My favorite parts of the forums are the Mego Buzz, Frequently Asked Questions ect... I'm really wanting to learn more about repairing/customizing, but I have 0 artistic or mechanical skills. The only repair I currently need to do is on a Vance Duke that has a broken knee... I got a really good deal on him in a badly damaged card. Imagine my horror when I opened him and the knee was broken (boo!). The Vance figure is pristine, and I don't even want to disrobe him for repair. I only collect/display loose Megos. Anyway, I'm always up for making new friends and talking shop. I think the Museum is a wonderful place, & it's really cool to know I'm not alone in my appreciation of all things Mego.

^^ a knee pin repair is relatively easy (assuming you can get your hands on a good replacement knee pin). If you have a spare T-2 mego body around that you can swap, you're probably just as well off.

Thanks! Yeah, I sold off a lot of spare parts I had last year to Mitch (vintage toys & treasures). I'm in serious need of some spare parts now and after I go on vacation this summer, I will probably start gathering some. I just rounded out my Walton's collection and now want to get all of the Dukes. The only ones I have are Coy and Vance (I like a challenge) LOL!

I think the Strawberry Shortcake posts are great and anything else that makes this a more interesting board to visit.

That's awesome. I'm surprised anyone else here even remembers that commercial.
