I married a German (his parents came over) and I'm Uruguayan (my parents are at least) so I'm rooting for the fatherland.

As my husband just yelled: "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOL ALEMANIA!"

No he doesn't speak Spanish. That's the only thing he knows how to say. That and "En mis pantalones."

My dad just called me. The first words out of his mouth, "Alemania, que no ni no." And then he called Argentina babies. Yes, the hatred runs deep.

What the hell? I spend an hour and a half watching nothing with my Dad and they score a goal when I leave? I don't even think I had turned the ignition key yet.

A very sad match indeed. Oh, and that's such an average, star-less winning team!

Can't help to imagine what it would have been if Van Gaal's team was on the other side tonight. Germans were lucky, the Argentinians let go three or four clear chances to score. That's just what you get when you do so!

But all in all, it's been a very exciting worldcup, lots of nice moments and good memories. With Spain and Brazil being brutalized 5-1 and 7-1 respectively, it was freakin' amazing. Thanks Brazil for a great tournament. Let's hope we can see better soccer played in France 2016!!

Come on man...I picked Argentina to win, but no excuses...Germany also missed great chances to score too (that header that hit the post for one), not just Argentina. Come on, lol.

You are calling Germany average? Really? Then what were the rest of the teams, bums?

Argentina had a great defense...but little scoring punch.

The best team stood alone at the end...Germany is that team...2014 World Cup champions.

No, I would not even consider the Brazil team as bums. It is just that the Germans aren't clearly better than most of the teams. And they have no stars at all. You see, there is no Breitner or Rummenigge in this team. The final match was all open, and both teams have space to put all they got to get the trophy and you have to admit that there was no brilliance at all. The match itself was no better than what you would see every year in, say, a Champion's League final game.

Do you really believe the Germans were *that* clearly the best team of the worldcup, Hector?

By the way, here's my ideal 11 from this worldcup:

Congratulations to the Germans for their 4th title.

Stars means nothing, absolutely nothing...this is not single men's tennis, or a boxer fighting another boxer...futbol/football/soccer...is a team sport.

Yes, other teams had more glamorous stars, Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Van Persie, etc...where are they now, I'll tell you where...watching the BEST TEAM holding the World Cup trophy, that's where.
