Not really getting which you are saying is the misconception. That Hasbro closed the division or that PM played a part in the closing?
Because Hasbro did close the Kenner division in 2000. That is a fact. The Cincinnati offices were closed and division was shut down. Kenner is no more. Also, from what I've read the underperformance and over production of PM did play a part in the shutting of the Kenner division. There were of course other mitigating factors, like the once profitable Jurassic Park line declining in sales. But, yes, PM did indeed play a part.
