And Kodak's website is still up for cameras and tech support. I have a Kodak Easy Share camera.

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Some of those aren't really gone, like they said they are just under another name. Kinda like kenner got absorbed by hasbro
Kenner as we knew it is gone. The Kenner division was shut down in 2000. It's pretty much just a trademark now.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

A debatable way to view it is that Hasbro has as similar of qualities, or *more* of the original qualities within what it does than Kenner did when it started than, say, *another* long-time property like "DC Comics aka Detective Comics" who still (unlike Kenner) actually go by that name. It's all how you perceive this stuff.
The "DC" thing is merely an example, but you could apply this to any property that's kept it's name for many years.
One big question is, what's more important in defining existence of a property? "The actual name"? "The qualities that entity projects over time staying consistent to certain themes/goals?" "That it stays it's own entity, and not swallowed up by a bigger one?"
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
Hasbro closed down Kenner in Cincinnati long ago, so Kenner is gone. If they reuse the name, it's just that...a name.
Another way of looking at it, is that Hasbro bought/absorbed Kenner... and made choices about how to handle business for what Kenner represented from there on out... and, they possibly did the same exact thing (made the same exact choices) Kenner may have made with their product from the "closing" til now.
So, as "Access" implied above:---did Kenner really "fail" in any sense of the word OTHER than changing their name? Are they "really" gone? Or just operating under another name? (until Hasbro gets out of the business?)
One thing's for sure, however you define that stuff, Kenner's biggest seller is *still* selling big: through Hasbro.... not someone who merely picked up the Star Wars license, but someone who bought the company that once held the Star Wars license, and holds it now, once again ("Kenner" name or not).
It's all perspective.

Hasbro shut down the division and closed the Cincinnati offices in 2000. Most of the employees were fired and few were transferred to other divisions. Kenner only exists as a brand name.
The overproduction and low sales of Phantom Menace played a big part into Kenner's down fall.

actually that's a common misconception Kenner was bought/merged with Tonka in the mid 80's and hasbro bought tonka (and the kenner division) in the early 90's (as evidenced by the 1994 3oth salute GIJOE 12" scale Rhino 4x4 which actually uses Tonka truck wheels/tires)
The PM was the death note for the original Cincinatti location and many team members
