My niece (6) just won 1st place at her church party as Woz's Dorothy. Very cute with braids & looked the part, but what cinched it (I think) were her accurate shoes & basket with toy Toto. She's seen the movie about 300 times, just like her uncle.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

We saw Gravity earlier this month and that pretty much decided what my son wanted to be. The movie kinda changed his life, not that he wasn't in to all things "outer space" already.

We went to two different Halloween parties and he won the costume contest at both. Once for "Most Unique" and the other for "Most Original" Here he is onstage in front of his school. (The other two kids won for "Cutest" and "Scariest"

As if you couldn't tell by the look on his face, this pretty much made his month.

Thanks...It's all vintage for the most part, including the house itself. I love Mid-Century Modern and most everything is from the 50's to the 70's. The couches are new but they're custom made reproductions of a design from 1958. I've got an entire room we call "The Retro Room" which is set up like a 1960's TV room. Inspiration mainly came from old Brady Bunch and Twilight Zone episodes and photographs of my childhood.

My Halloween stuff is already over. Friday was the kids' parade at the school where I'm currently assigned. I was going to go as the 11th Doctor, but the 5th grade teachers invited me to join their superhero group, so I was Robin, with just clothes I had around the house. No one who saw me in person recognized the costume I made for Saturday. I'll post pics when I get to my computer.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

My grand-niece (a year old next month) is going as a piglet. Her mom will be a pig, and my nephew will be the Big Bad Wolf (Hmmm, they're short 1 pig!). I'd post pics, but I'm not sure her mom would like that.

My son opted out of the family idea, and is going as a very convincing looking 11th doctor.

We are also doing a Despicable Me famiy theme. We built a minion suit for my son which was great fun, my wife as Lucy looks awesome, I think they may have modeled the Margo character after my daughter, and I am a laughable and pale imitation of Gru. Good times. We will have to share group pics.

We went the easy route with our Minion, and bought the costume. We are adding yellow paint to the face and a hard hat with the Gru logo. My daughter tends to not want to keep all her costume on after about a half hour, so it's best to keep it simple.

Our party we were going to attend got cancelled, so I'll post pics after Trick Or Treat night on Thursday.

Haven't been able to get pics loaded from the camera yet, but here is my family as the cast of Despicable Me from our hometown costume contest page. Gru, Lucy, Margo, and Minion Dave.
