I have an odd curse with water ever since the day I was nodding off in middle school and my science teacher asked me to offer one aspect of water. In my delirium of coming to I said, "It runs." It's been chasing me ever since. I've had many encounters, but this is possibly the best one...
I was working in Memphis back in the mid-80's for a six week stint to help supervise an inventory assessment for a office supply branch. They kept me up at a Days Inn that was literally one parking lot over. Late one night I got up to take a leak. When I went to flush the toilet, the water line leading into the toilet inexplicably broke loose and started shooting water everywhere. No matter how hard I tried I could not get the shut off valve to turn off. I rushed into my my room to call for maintenance. The girl who answered didn't seem to understand the magnitude of my situation and quietly said, "The maintenance man won't be in until 7 o'clock sir." As she was saying this, I turned to see a huge body of water beginning to pool into my bedroom. I screamed, "This hotel will be a f*cking water ride by the time he gets here lady if you don't get someone up here NOW!" He made it there some 20 minutes later. But the damage was done. I flooded the whole side of the hotel...six floors down. When I got into work that morning, my boss looked very tired. He looked at me and said, "The weirdest sh*t happen to me last night." I said, "Oh really?" He said, "Yeah. I heard water running down my window and I thought it wasn't suppose to rain. I kept listening and it seem so loud. I decided to get up and look out the window and realized the water was streaming on my side of the window! Can you believe it? Turns out some idiot over top me let his toilet overflow and flooded me out of my room! What a hell of a night. How was yours?" ...Comment

Aye, a ghost dog. Back in the early 80s I had a friend who drove a beat up Dodge Omni, a little boxy thing similar to a Chevy Chevette. One night we were heading out to pick up another friend, and were taking the shortcut road, a dirt road through a rural area. It was a full moon & clear night, so it wasn't all that dark despite being in the country, and my buddy was in a hurry. We were traveling about 60 mph down this road, when all of a sudden this big white dog runs in front of the car and stops in the center up the road aways. My friend slams on the brakes and fishtails to the side, but comes to a stop before hitting the dog. I could see it clearly, looked like a German Shepherd mix of some kind, but all white. No sooner did we stop, than a deer ran across the road behind the dog, who did not chase or even seem to notice it. After the deer crossed, the dog turned and ran off toward it, and we could see the deer running through an open field on the other side, but the dog was gone, no sign of it. We realized then that had he not stopped for the dog, he would have hit that deer head on at 60 mph, not a good thing for us in that little car.
True story, so help me. Weirdest thing is we were both pretty calm about the whole episode, both during & after.Comment

Shocking things about me...hmmm...
I don't drink coffee. I hate it.
I grew up in a haunted house. All the other members of my family saw the spirit full-on, but I didn't it. I did "feel" her presence...OFTEN. We're pretty sure she was my great-grandmother. She liked to pull pranks, but other than that, was harmless. My Mom actually had conversations with her, and she was the only one who saw her. After my mother passed away, she seemed to leave my father's house.
My wife and I both saw our cat...a few weeks after we were forced to have him put down. We saw him go across the doorway of two different rooms, on two separate occasions.
I have never watched the following movies in their entirety: Godfather Trilogy, The Exorcist, The Omen, Gone with the Wind, Fight Club, Usual Suspects.
I've never been on an airplane, and don't really care to try it. I have pretty severe acrophobia, but it really gets me when I can't control when I go up or down.
