I went a lot when I was around 12-14. It was fun to go and sit on the hood of the car and watch the movie/look around, go to the snack place.... The sound always sucked at the drive-in -- those speakers you would put in your window, were awful.

I also went several times in college, they played a bunch of older movies and monster movies. I cannot remember the last movie that I saw....

Double feature in SLC, Utah 1983:

        Octopussy
        Blue Thunder

This was the first and last time I ever went to a drive-in!

the only drive in I remember in Miami was closed in the early 80's or late 70's and was used as a flea market and then knocked down and turned into a BestBuy

But i just noticed there's one in Fort Lauderdale

I don't think that we have any Drive-in's over here.

              Same here.

I also loved getting that stale popcorn or those awful hot dogs...but like you said...for some reason they tasted great back then, lol.

I have a cottage in Saskatchewan, and there is still a Drive In there.

                It's like a Time Warp...

The lake is a Salt Lake, one of the birth places of Sea Monkeys (Brine Shrimp) and every time I walk through the local town, I can almost hear someone Whistling in my ear...

                I'm a lucky guy!

                    Aww, thanks Dave!

Hey did anyone ever go to one of those drive-ins that you had to tune in your car radio to some obscure AM station to hear it, instead of using those speakers? When I was a teenager, ET was playing at some distant drive-in theatre, instead of our local one. It didn't have speakers, just the AM radio thing. Well, our car radio was broken at that time, so I brought my red Panasonic Toot-A-Loop radio (remember those?). Well, about 1/2 way thru the film, my batteries started to go, so although we saw the whole film, we really couldn't hear it too well.

They broadcast those things over a low frequency AM station with not much of a range.

There is a really good Christmas light show that one of the State Parks puts up every year and if you tune your radio to an AM Station, it transmits Christmas music as you are driving through the displays.

I have no idea. The 2 here in Montgomery have been gone for a good 20+ years. There was one on the way to Prattville but I have no idea when it closed.

I think the last movie I saw at the drive in was "Smokey & the Bandit" (back when it was a new release).

Tomb Raider 2: Cradle Of Life. Reno, Nevada still has a drive-in. I wish I still lived there. For many reasons.
