^It's all gone. No more good heavy weight fights. Boxing has lost all it's legitimacy through the decades, mostly because of corruption. Yes, fights are fixed and have been since the origin of the sport. Be the judges or the fighters. It just got so bad over the last 20-30 years, most of the population has no interest. Mayweather is the last ticket draw.
I wrote a freshman college paper on why Hearns would beat Leonard. I think it was a contrast and comparison paper. I got a B on it, with the comments on the bottom by the professor, "next time, let me know before the fight".

But seriously, J...I do agree that some judges are corrupted...Teddy Atlas wants them all dead, lol.

Promoters, judges, organizations, yes...they can be corrupt.

But not boxers, at least not on the highest level...especially top fighters fighting top fighters...the winner gets the next mega fight...the loser loses ranking, goes down the latter...and eventually fights for peanuts, that's not the road a top notch fighter wants to take.

Besides, I don't know how closely you have been following boxing these days, but there has been some awesome stuff indeed.

Did you ever see the Arturo Gatti vs Mickey Ward wars?

Rafael Marquez vs Israel Vasquez fights, which basically ended both fighters as prime fighters.

Heck, even the Manny Pacquiao vs Manuel Marquez were epic battles, although I'd have to admit, some of that scoring was very questionable, right up your statement of crooked judging.

How about the most recent of brutal fights...Timothy Bradley vs Ruslan Provodnikov, holy Jesus, was that a brutal fight, one for the ages.

You see, great fights are not dead...but you are right about not being a nationwide popular sport in the USA anymore, it's now a sport for just hardcore fight fans...unless you visit places like Mexico, Puerto Rico, Eastern Europe, etc.

The problem aside from corruption (pure greed)...is that boxing used to be a Network sport on NBC, CBS, and ABC, you could see top fights for free. Now you get almost free entry level fights on regular cable, like ESPN 2, Fox Sports, Univision, etc. Then you get higher quality fights on paid cable like HBO and Showtime...but if you wanna see the mega fights, then you have to spend good money on the pay per view cards.

What boxing needs is to get rid of all the existing organizations, and implement one official ruling body headed by a network of boxing purists, like trainers, coaches, former boxers, and legitimate businessman...get rid of the Don Kings, Bob Arums, and Jose Sulaimans of the world...also...introduce some kinda retirement plan for former fighters...and most of all, and existing health plan insurance...it's a travesty how boxing ignores these poor boxers, and discards them by the side of the road after their fighting days are over.

              That's what boxing needs.

That's another era my friend, long ago.

Heck, all sports could be crooked as hell in the past, baseball, football, basketball, etc.

                Remember the Black Sox?

                Or how about today's MLB?

Ask Rose, McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Clemens, Rodriquez, etc...baseball is still crooked.

MMA...Dana White has too much power, he alone changes things with a snap of his finger.

Cycling? That's probably the crookedest sport of them all.

Mayweather wins EASILY...I might have given Canelo perhaps two rounds, even three. just to be nice to him, lol.

It was a man vs a boy in there, like I ssid, Canelo is just too young,, too green, plus he looked super slow compared to master boxer Mayweather.

                      Scores were, 116-112, 117-111, 114-114.

Judge C.J. Ross scored it a draw, 114-114...that woman should be banned for life, what a crooked idiot.

Jamie might want to take her out for lunch, lol.

Good thing the other two judges scored it right.

Tony Atlas wants her to go to prison, lol.

                      Garcia beat Matthysse, good fight.

Official scorecard (the one on the far right is from judge C.J. Ross, who scored it 114-114, a draw......

Ross gave Canelo four of the last five rounds. Somehow.

She also judged the Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley...and not surprisingly, gave the fight to Bradley.

Judge C.J. Ross should be fired immediately.

Tons of articles on this fiasco...here's one sample from Bleacher Report...

Floyd Mayweather dominated Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and he did so in a fashion that seemingly left no doubt who the winner would be when the verdict came in from the judges...

Atlas is right on the money. You wonder why boxing is in trouble? Ridiculous! That was a boxing clinic by Mayweather.
