I can vividly remember sitting on the couch with my mom and watching John Glenn walk on the moon. I was about 5 at the time. Also can remember staying up late to watch Twilight Zone black and white episodes with my dad. Not sure if that was before or after the moon landing. I can recall quite a few news broadcasts with Walter Cronkite talking about Viet-Nam and about a place called Pnom Pehn. You seldom even hear that city in Cambodia mentioned now, but at the time it was a hot subject. Seemed like every nite he would begin his report with "......news tonite out of Pnom Pehn.....".

Also remember the mass suicide of Jim Jones and his followers as well as The Who concert tragedy. The producers of WKRP shot an episode which involved the latter. Oh yeah, and the signing of the peace accord between Egypt and Israel because it delayed the premiere of the original Battlestar Galactica by a half hour in my area. Was really annoyed when the ABC News Special Report graphic suddenly popped up followed by Jimmy Carter at Camp David. Now as an adult, I wish I could get a copy of what was broadcast on ABC during that 3 1/2 hour period on September 17, 1978.Last edited by Bionicfanboy66; Sep 21, '13, 1:01 AM.Comment

I definately remember watching Neil Armstrong first stepped on the moon, and all of the moon missions after that. I also remember how mad I was over Watergate hearings. Those darn things were interrupting afternoon cartoons, damnit!"...You can capture the Klingon & bring him back to the Enterprise!"Comment
