Ebay is another option, as long as the seller has perfect feedback and is a reputable dealer. Plus most of them have great return policies, it gives you a chance to appraise it locally if you wish, and of course, you have paypal protection.

Here's mine. The wife and I bought matching Datejust's for Christmas 2003. She has since replaced hers because she didn't like the style, but I wear mine every day, everywhere... in the pool, in the ocean, wherever. It is a tank. After 10 years of daily wear, it still looks new. I personally liked the Daytona model the best when picking them out, but it and the Submariner were just too big on my wrist. I would definitely recommend one.

Thanks Hector!
I agree with your comments too. We bought from the Rolex dealer because we were foolish back then (kinda like buying a new boat). We did get a heck of a deal because we were buying two and paying cash. But after ten years of additional experience, I would buy from a reputable reseller if I were to do it again. Not gonna pay the mark up!
In my city, we have several jewelry stores that refurbish and resell. I would do my research and buy from one of them honestly. Just make sure on a used one that you are getting genuine Rolex parts; obviously, the crystal is a biggie, but even little parts like internal parts, bands and clasps, etc.Comment

Zemo speaks the truth about the Yacht Master.
I'm sure that you'll be happy with whatever model you end up with. Keep size in mind when you start your search. For the most part, the standard Oysters are 36mm (Datejust, Air King, etc.) and the Oyster Professionals (Subs, Yacht Masters, Daytonas, GMT's, etc.) are 40mm. While that Datejust model looks perfect on cockyhoskins' wrist, it was too small on mine when I tried it on; and I believe the Lipton ranges from 28-31mm.
have fun with your purchase and be sure to post pics. You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.Comment

I hope these pics work! I thought I had one of my dad's Rolex but I can't find it. If you haven't decided already I would strongly suggest buying a used one. There are lots of reputable sellers on ebay. That's where I got my Speedmaster. I would also lurk on the Rolex site at watchuseek.com. There are also guys who sell on that site. My favourite Rolex would have to be the Submariner.
Thanks for the info...yeah...I see some good deals on ebay...it's like candy out there, lol.sigpicComment
