If you could revisit one store from the past...

So suppose you had a time machine... You can go to any store that you personally visited in the past for a revisit... Where would you go?
I think I'd like to visit 1960s Woolworth's downtown, shop the basement toy dept, and pop a balloon for a banana split at the snack bar.
How about the rest of you?

1975 Air-Way in Evansville, Indiana. I think most of my toys came from there and it was never crowded. I remember buying stuff there till 1982 when we moved to the Cincinnati area. Shortly after it was acquired by Target.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

You know, I have an overarching memory of being in toy and department stores back in the mid-70s, and drooling over many many a-wonder, but it ultimately would end in me having a tantrum and my Mom shooting down many many a-hope and desire.

I would instead like to return to a past universe where I could pour over and order from a Sears Christmas catalog circa '78 !

Hills! Hills! Hills! Hills Department Store. I know that it stretched much further, but talk with anyone in the Pittsburgh area that is old enough to remember and they would love to have it back. "Hills Is Where The Toys Are!"

Children's Palace would be a close second.

Definitely Gemco for my Megos, and Woolworth for its old school diner.

I also miss Emporium Capwell's, the Bay Area Macy's of its day, but cooler.

Montgomery Wards also comes to mind.

Kiddie City, which also went by Playworld and a handful of other names. Late 70's, early 80's. Found anything and everything I wanted then.

I would add a department store when I lived out west used to carry all the original GI Joe and MOTU. Cannot remember which one it was, though. I can recall it all being stored on the same row, which was stocked to the hilt.

ADD - Christmas Tree Shop, 70's/80's. Cellophane bagged Megos for under a dollar, by the binful. Predominantly Falcon and Mxy, but you could find a stray Spidey, Supes, etc... one of my favorite memories.

Bargain Boys in Burien,WA. They had everything....it was next door to the Mr. Ed's where my grandmother worked for over 30 years. My grandpa would take me to lunch at the diner - he'd let me get the Spoiler burger even though i could never even think of finishing it - and then over to BB. Man I miss those days. RIP gramps.

Woolworth... I think I got all my Johnny West's there. I still remember the display across the back of the store with them on horseback the chuck wagon... Great memories... Macy's, there was one in Parkchester in the Bronx all I remember were the solid box WGSH damn if that memory doesn't seem like yesterday... And the Gimbels on 86th street in Manhattan... Tons and tons of 12inch GI Joe's, I remember that display as well had to be the biggest display ever.

First choice: Lionel Playworld in Atlanta in 1988. I found the Fantastic Four and Spider-man for sale there. I'd go back and buy them out.

Second choice: Belles Hess here at home around '80 or /81. My brother and I got our last Megos there (Falcon and Hulk). Again, I'd go back and clean them out.
