Hey this is my current desk phone.

    Mint 1974 Telecom 802 model.

I don't use it for outgoing calls. Life's too short.
At work, this is our Crash Phone that we notify the on field fire department.

Yeah that may be part of it and i'm sure its a low priority when it comes to enforcement. As long as they dont break any other laws they will get away with it but if they happen to get pulled over for something else they will find out the hard way that what they thought was legal, really isn't.

At one point years ago, this myth through some loophole in some states law, probably having to do with the definition of a motor vehicle was probably true and some people used that to get out of actually being charged for an offense. These myths have to start some where, but i would think that any loophole like that was closed long ago.

Anyway back to the topic.....Another thing you dont see today is the use of the color Avocado Green on Everything from cars, furniture, kitchen appliances, etc, etc.

^^^ Our current house came with Avacado green stove and refrigerator. The stove bit the dust in Hurricane Charley and the fridge left as soon as we bought the house, ice cubes wouldn't freeze in it.

Sorry for the delay in posting a response.

I do remember Ski, quite well. I too think that it is better than Mountain Dew. In fact, I am so fond of it that I have a vintage rectangular aluminum sign (now in a closet) for Ski. I believe that it's circa 1960s.

Ski soda is a Double Cola product and was introduced in 1956.

In fact, one bottler, in the mid-west (Exel in Breese, Illinois), was still producing Ski with pure cane sugar as late as a five years ago (they may still be doing it). Over a year or so, they sent me several 24 bottle shipments, about 7 years ago. They neatest thing about it, is that they bottled the Ski in the vintage bottles, as seen above (both types ... the bottle with people skiing is from the 1960s). They had a lot of vintage bottles that were fit for reuse. They sterilized and filled with Ski, for me.

            Ok, I'm done rambling.

            - Ian

PS. A country band, the Kentucky Headhunters, mentioned Ski in one of their songs, Dumas Walker

              >Yeah Mopeds are still around.

Big thing around here are E-bikes, which are like mopeds but more irritating. I ride a regular ol' bicycle, and these things clog the bike lanes, amking this weird, whiney nerd noise.

Giant American cars like a 4 door Torino with green vinyl bench seats that were a full mile across- hot as blazes in the summer- and your mom slung her arm across you (instead of using the seatbelt) if she came to a sudden stop.
