I met Burt Ward & Adam West

Back in the day, Long after their show was cancelled. Burt and Adam were doing series of appearances at car shows after they became famous again when their shows were run as reruns on the main channels. I was going through my parent's stuff and I found the picture of me meeting Burt Ward at the Rockford car show when I was about 7ish. I am still looking for the Adam West pictures. But here I am in the green coat...don't laugh

Dude! Is that a JCPenney parka? My first one was navy blue, and when I outgrew that one I got a green one like you have there. I never would have guessed that you had blonde hair as a kid.

Very cool! Nice to see him in costume and apparently friendly. Nowadays I always hear horror stories about how he and Adam are unapproachable at shows and are in it for top $$$. I guess they aren't as hungry as they used to be in the early 70s after they couldn't get work because of type-casting.

Robin had Homework

I met Adam West in Batman costume with the Batmobile at a Carshow around 77. Lost the autographed banner. He told us Robin was doing Homework I think and couldn't make it.

And/or I recall him saying something about a tough fight last night.

Hmm...

Adam West couldn't buy a job for a long time, I can understand why he may want to charge someone to have him come out and make them money at their event.

Saw a profile of him and Burt on TV a few years ago. Burt has some successful business in LA area, Adam was starving in Montana. Since seen him on Goosebumps and I know he did a few cartoon voices.

Adam seems to be doing well playing...Adam West. Much like Shatner, he embraced his inner cheese and has had somewhat of a career revival. He's on Family Guy as...Adam West, and has done lots of other voice work, including Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons from Disney.

Burt Ward runs an SFX house in LA. He seems to be doing very well indeed.

I met Adam and Frank Gorshin at Mid-Ohio con a few years back. Both were polite and friendly and Adam even kind of hit on my wife in his slick, Bruce Wayne-like way. I bought a mini-66 movie poster from West and had both sign it, not thinking I had to pay Frank as well (I was too starstruck I guess). When I realized it Frank said "Ah, forget it, enjoy." His manager then berated him as I walked away. Even if the stars are cool, their management are usually the stereotypical Hollwood agent-jerk types.

Check out the kid with the Franco Harris jersey in the background. There is another kid with a football team pom-pom hat but I can't make out the team. Possibly a Redskins hat but it's hard to tell

Very cool picture! Met Ward twice. Once as a kid and a couple of years ago at the Adv. Con where he showed up very late and was in a bad mood.
Good eye AW that is a Redskins Pom Pom hat. I've still got mine from '74.
