WOW! I would have loved to meet them when I was a kid, since I always watched the 60s series. It's so cool that they made their appearance in costume! What does your daughter think of the pic?

And I wanted one of those parkas in red, but my mom said no. But just about every kid (boy or girl), in my class had one.

I have the same kind of pic just insert a kid with brown hair ( you are making me go and look for that now LOL ) I bought the same picture too. It came pre-autogrpahed I see it on the table. ( Robin climbing the wall in black and white ) He signed it again on the same picture for me. ) I still have it. It hangs on my wall. That same car show had a few Apes as well ( they kinda looked like Corny and Zira ) and of course the Batmobile.

Thanks for bringing back some memories.

It's funny this thread became more about the coat

But it does SCREAM 70's nostalgia

I used to have both green and dark blue versions (different years)

        I don't remember a red version-- maroon-ish maybe

Dude, that is so cool, I'm jealous (and not of the coat )

I thought them doing shows in costume after the show was mythical but there you have photo proof.

Back then, our family wasn't in the greatest shape financially as it is now. I think that coat may have been a hand me down from my uncle who is only a few years older then me believe it or not.

Yes, I had blond hair. I have it again (current pic on my profile). I dyed it black when I played in Fatal Agenda and we had a Type O Negative theme going. I figured it fit the stage. Made myself more horrible then I did cool.

There's that segment on the "Bat-Clips" DVD from the dollar stores a few years back that has Adam West in full Batman garb in the 70s at an autograph show....

Awesome pic. I worshipped that show at that age and wouldve killed for a moment like that

Regarding the "this guy was a jerk" "his manager was a jerk" "he/she charges too much"
malarkey that usually comes up in threads like this...I still can't get over that
fans of these genres we like have such high expectations.

They are stars. We are fans. This is a business. Money. Period. If you feel slighted
in some way, that's unfortunate...but the priority here is commerce---and not making
sure every last fan is happy "in their own special way".

i agree. it is a business so they should be there on time and treat each and every fan with the respect they deserve. after all the fans are the ones standing in line for hours, and spending the money for a few seconds of time to get an autograph of actors most of which have not had a successful acting career in years. they should cherish the few fans they have left. acting put out because you have to interact with your fans is unacceptable behavior for any "business" man. most people would not complain about paying for the atuograph as long as they thought they were apreciated.

                          "Showing up on time"
                          That's a good idea....and I don't question that "demand"

(however, if one is that angry about a celeb being late to a signing ---- my
suggestion is just not to buy their autograph----tit for tat---case closed)

"Feeling appreciated" and all that related stuff?

Well, I can RELATE to that "demand"----however its all perspective on what "appropriate
fan appreciation" is, and that's where this gets messy----and I can't tell you how many
times I disagree with fans' personal definitions of "appreciation"---is all I'm saying.
(and being a member here I've read a lot of these scenarios)

Sometimes stars/managers are jerks---yes---but many other times---the practical
stuff makes it so fans feel hurt when I feel they shouldn't.

Sometimes money has to be exchanged. Sometimes lines have to be moved along.

And sometimes things don't turn out exactly perfect for each fan.

I don't really get too starstruck over meeting celebrities and I make sure I don't intrude on someone's privacy on the rare occassion that I see someone famous out on the street.

I have really only had one bad experience and it was with Brian Mitchell (the ex-Redskins kick returner).

I know Mark Moseley (the ex-field goal kicker from the skins) professionally. When he retired, he started a travel business, our company used his company to meet our business travel needs, and I happened to manage our internal travel department. He invited me and some other clients to a Redskins alumni luncheon that is held every year.

It is one of those opportunites to see all of the players, have the new players introduced, and basically get fans pumped up for the upcoming season. You can purchase tickets to the event (they're about $250 a piece) but Mark paid for all of them and because he is a bit of a Redskin celebrity himself he had a table for us front and center.

After the luncheon, there is a meet and greet opportunity where you can talk to players, get autographs, etc. Mark Moseley's wife was super nice and very personable. She knew all of the players. Players would walk up to our table to say hello to Mark or his wife and she always took the opportunity to introduce me to that particular player as though I was a close friend of Mark's or something.

I walked up to a few players myself who were very gracious, down to earth, and happy to sign autographs....that's what they were there for. They all rode in together on a team bus so it wasn't like they were going anywhere soon. I decided to approach Brian Mitchell tell him how much I enjoyed watching him play and asked for an autograph. He just kind of shrugged me off and said "I really don't have time to sign any more autographs, I have other things to do". I was really irritated with his smugness but only told him I was sorry if he felt like I was imposing. He ended up grabbing my program and signing it like it was a big effort and I thanked him but thought what a jerk.

Only bad experience I ever had.

Best experience was meeting John Riggins and this was in his prime. I was a teenager working for a catering company at the time and we were doing some type of charity event that he was part of. He was very down to earth, walked up to us and thanked us for the food. Most of us were completely awed by the "Diesel" especially since this was right after Super Bowl XVII and he was a living legend. He stood there and talked to us for about 15 minutes just telling us great football stories and memorable moments from his career. He was funny and charismatic. Left me with a really good impression of him.
