I'm not even a huge Rush fan, but I recognize their importance and place in rock history. It was criminal it took them this long. Of course, it took them 10 frickin' years to get Bob Seger in, which is also a colossal joke.

Don't get me wrong, Bonham was a baddarse, I love Led Zep, he was a speed demon, no doubt.

But while Bonham had unmatched natural talent, Peart is an intellectual genius, I can't think of another drummer with not only playing talent, but also be a musical prodigy with unbelievable songwriting skills, the ultimate lyricist, Peart is truly unmatched.

IBut the strangest thing was Alex Lifeson's extremely odd and uncomfortable Blah, Blah, Blah speech...at first it was funny, but he went one, and on, and on, to the point where you could see both Peart and Geddy Lee cringing a bit...very weird, lol.

Not a big Rush fan, but they do deserve to be in the Hall Of Fame, no doubt!

Peart is without a doubt the greatest rock drummer ever.

I did not think Lifesons speach was uncomfortable but it did go on a bit long. definately telling the establishment to get over itself.RUSH should have been in years ago.

Going to see them at SPAC next month. can't wait. I have not seen them live in over 20 years

I realize music is subjective, but if you just watched Bonham play MD and think Pert was a better drummer, well like I said it's subjective. lol What do you guys play that think Pert is the best drummer ever?

I would not take anyting away from Bonham or Moon, both were amazingly talented drummers. but, they died young without standing the test of time to see if they could continue as they aged. Peart has been and continues to be an amazing drummer. RUSH has always been underrated. Grohl nailed it when he asked when they became cool because they have always been cool, they just did not get the respect they deserved until the past few years

Hey, personally I agree with that. I never have like them, but appreciated them. Getty's voice goes right through me. I honestly could never get used to them, despite the talent, because of his voice.

But for a three man band the sound was awesome. Them, ZZ, and the Police. Hard to pull off.

Just to stir the mud: No doubt Peart is an extraordinary drummer, but Don Henley's the best lyricist and singer among rock drummers. Now, he couldn't hold Peart or Bonham or Moon's drumsticks, but he can sing and write.

Look, I love both Bonham and Peart, both have advantages and disavantages over each other.

Let's just say Bonham was a muscle car, and Peart is a fine tuned Bentley, that should put all these back and forth arguments to rest.

Keith Moon was more like a demolition derby Buick, lol.
