The best thing is school lunch for me was the cake they use to make
it was either given to the student of the week in elementary or you could buy it in Junior high or HS for $.50 That's it I'm heading back to HS to visit my teachers and eat some lunch there

Back in High School they used to let us buy soda in school.
I remember thinking that was so great .......

Back in High School we used to have 2 OFFICIAL smoke breaks per day.......
As long as you were 16 or older.

not a smoke break,but in my HS they let you smoke during lunch or in the morning as long as you're across the street.it use to be allowed in the parking lot but they changed itBack in High School they used to let us buy soda in school.

Our lunch was 35 minutes long .......
Whoever wanted a smoke had to go out in the parking lot during that time.
We also had an afternoon smoke break during our shop class.Comment

Only good school lunch was elementary school. The ladies that worked there made everything from scratch and it was like eating a home cooked meal.
Middle school and High school was soy burgers, and anything else they could mold from soy. I brown bagged those years.

Luckily, my hometown had a Italian Foods factory there, so we had tortellini once a week. The rest was standard skinny chickens, salisbury steak, fish rectangles and so on.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. Everything was made from scratch in my cafeteria they were all old Cuban ladies ,they use to make "Arroz con Pollo" atleast once every 2 weeks,It's rice with Chicken but latin style with red peppers and yellow rice

So Angel Delight is whipped pudding and hundred and thousands are sprinkles, bread and butter pudding looks like regular bread pudding brushed w/ butter on top to make it toasty, spotted dick looks like a sponge bundt cake w/ raisins and dates in it, and blancmange looks like a gelatin dessert w/ milk or cream mixed in. My high school did hava a hot food cafeteria but I rarely ate there.
I usually packed my own stuff which consisted of a couple of ham and cheese sandwiches or home made burritos, a bag of chips (usually Fritos), and some kinda fruit (banana, orange, apple). I would get a soda from the vending machine.sigpicComment
