Mispronounced words that bug the crap out of you.

    I have a list...do you?

    1. Nukular. It's nuclear dammit! Nu-cle-ar.

    2. Melk. Apparently this is what you call a glass of milk at Mel's diner.

    3. Eye-talian. Good grief that one irritates me.

    4. Warsh. Where did the R come from?

    5. Woof. As in Werewoof, Woof Man, etc. Woof is what he says, not what he is.

I don't know, Nukular Man and his sidekick Melk Boy sound pretty cool...

I can't stand when people say "seen" as in "I seen that movie", take an ocean's name in vein as in "I pacifically said no onion" or the grand daddy of all "Youse Guys".

Americans delight in Canadians saying "aboot" but nothing is said about the harshness of "ruff" instead of "roof" or the fact that I once asked for a "map" in Buffalo and was quickly sent to the mop aisle.

When I went back to the counter the woman said "Oh I thought you wanted a map to map the floor with".

"Idear" always bugs me. There is no "r" in the word "idea"

Among black folks, (like myself), ax or aks instead of ASK
Also Liberry instead of LIBRARY bugs me
Little kids I notice often say I "sawl" it instead of I SAW it.
One that I'm guilty of is mis-cheevious instead of MISCHIEVOUS

I know this one! My great grandparents were all from the Netherlands; melk is the Dutch word for milk. Around here, at least, it is a carry over from most families speaking Dutch at one time. My grandparents, although born here, all used a Dutch pronunciation for many words. I even find myself using these once in a while. You will also hear packle (pickle = pekel), grond (ground), tulp (tulip), zink for sink (zinken), grap (grab = grijpen), markt (market), weg (way)

Zink instead of sink (my in-laws do this).

"He clumb a ladder" instead of climbed.

"He retched for the phone" instead of reached.

A friend of mine corrected me on the pronunciation of chipotle. I was saying it as chip-ol-tay. Said it that way for years, because almost everyone else around here says it the exact same way.

                            "Supposably" instead of "supposedly".

Not a mispronunciation, but it irritates me when people say they "could care less" when they mean they "couldn't care less".

Use of the word real instead of really.
