Wash with an R in it, absolutely kills me.....

I hear this on the radio and TV all the time, and it's a simple word, but gets butchered. Jewelry gets turned into "Jewry".

Sacagawea. Practically everyone mispronounces this name except for historians. The ga is not pronounced je.

I've heard phantom instead of FATHOM too, which drives me crazy!

I HATE the way how many foodies on TV say Jalapeeno and Habañero...people like Guy Fieri of Diners Drive-In's & Dives and Adam Richman of Man vs Food...

...well...they are NOT pronounced like that, in fact, the complete opposite...the Ñ is in Jalapeño (and no double E's), and there's no Ñ in Habanero...

...it really does irritate me to no end, lol.

I'm confused, it is often? or did you mean they say offen instead of often?
“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”

A lot of people have problems spelling my country.
It's Belgium and we are Belgians.
Some people spell and pronounce it as a new Star Trek race!
"We are the Belkiums. Leave our space or get ready to be bombarded with waffles, captain Kirk!"

But I'm the first to admit that we're just a tiny speck on the map, and that it's logical that most people are unfamiliar with how it's spelled.
When people ask me "where's Belgium?" I can't help thinking of Luke Skywalker saying "If there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that is farthest from it."
                        .
                        .
                        .
"When things are at their darkest, it's a brave man that can kick back and party."

I mean they say often instead of offen. Growing up, everybody said offen; friends, teachers, etc. I don't know why people decided to include to 't' sound when they say it now.

                            It's the same as palm

years ago everybody pronounced it pom

today most people add the L

It one of the many examples as how American English changes over time

I always think of Peggy Hill (king of the Hill) whenever I hear people say Meh-hee-co

"jag-wire" instead of "jaguar" . . . I sat through an entire HS football game with the announcer calling the visiting team the 'jag-wires" with every play.
