Beatles Talk- UK Albums Vs US Albums

This is tough, because I also grew up with US versions, and really liked "our" version of Rubber Soul, and still have a hard time with the UK version.

I liked it as a kid but, when i found out that they took out songs and added a song from the Help album, i was puzzled by it...I understood Capitol wanted a more folk sounding album......the also wanted to milk the Beatle teet with Yesterday and Today....

Capitol had some nice covers too

Beatles 65 was a great cover better than any early UK album cover

Agree! Beatles for Sale had a horrible cover....looks like they were Half a sleep.....lol

But Not Better that The Famous Black and white Turtle neck pic.....that's Iconic

Same here, as a kid I always skipped over the instrumentals

One thing .... as an adult if the song Help begins without the secret agent theme it just don't sound right.

Yeah second album they had the receptionist glue those pics together.....lol

"Something New" was also a bad cover they just took a stock pic from the Ed Sullivan show.......and threw that album together....lol

When I had got it....By then I knew they had taken the music from the UK Hard day's night,The UK EP Long tall Sally.......

Grew with the US versions but when I hit my teens and the UK versions came out on CD, I was hooked. UK for me but not too crazy about Past Masters compilation but understand the logic for songs not on albums being sold as singles. Didn't like that Capitol made you spend your money on the single and album even though the song on the singles were on the album. Greed!
