    Hmmmm....

The only problem I have with the new crop of weird mystery shows is that there are so many of them now that they keep bringing up the same cases.

As Eddie Murphy would say, "Goonie Goo Goo!"

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for today.

I never thought i'd hear myself say this but I hate modern Bigfoot documentaries

They made something that was fun and even a little scary and turned it into boring overplayed crap

I loved In Search Of.... with Leonard Nimoy.. Here's the Bigfoot one...

Really? That is weird. Was it just a local thing? Do you remember the name?

Are you sure it wasn't the 80s and you were tripping out watching Harry and the Hendersons?

I didn't know Bigfoot had that much of a great reputation to begin with, lol.

Anyone else remember this? After watching this as a kid in the late 70's I was scared to go in the woods near my house.

I heard that was one of the most popular documentaries that company made. Also it was coming off the height of the sightings/popularity era's of the `70's. Modern reality TV just plain sucks and doesn't make something like searching for Bigfoot fun or entertaining. Monster Quest was decent but was a "re-enactment" show and these types of have been replaced by reality based video programs. A Haunting was very popular but because it was a "re-enactment" show it was not renewed and replaced by as-it-happens type shows.

Les Stroud of Survivorman claims when he was taping one of his episodes, (Alaska?), he heard the sound of a "gorilla" in the woods. Many enthusiasts speculated he heard a Sasquatch. If I were a TV producer I would have done multiple episodes of that guy camping out in areas which are sightings hot-spots. It probably would have been more entertaining than the shows on now. There's that show on those expert trackers. Why don't they do a season of them tracking Bigfoot? If these guys are such expert trackers they should find a trail to follow. There's just no imagination at work in these shows.

When you'd go to the theater, they'd give you this card that had a picture of Bigfoot from the Patterson film on the other side of it.

I'm kind of surprised no true believer is out there trying to bag one. I mean for real--shot dead and brought back to a university lab for examination--not walking around with night-vision goggles and peeing a little when they hear a twig break. Instant fame and fortune and a place in history for solving a huge mystery that could even answer questions about our own species' development. You'd be like a cross between Frank Buck and Robert von Beringe.

Reminds me of Geraldo Rivera and Al Capone's vault back in the mid 80's. That's two hours of my life I wish I could get back. Best portrayal of Bigfoot was Andre the Giant & Ted Cassidy on The Six Million Dollar Man/The Bionic Woman.
