    The price of razor blades

I don't normally rant about this stuff, but I can't wrap my mind around this one. I went into the local Wal-mart this morning on my way to work to pick up a few things, one of which was razor blades. For years I've been buying Gillette Fusion blades (for a Fusion razor). The price on these has always been a bit steep, but it's held steady for around $14.95 for a 6 pack for a long time now.

This morning I found the razor aisle reset, and the prices have skyrocketed. A 6 pack is now $22.95!!! What the crap?!?

I know the price of gas going up drives everything else up, blah, blah, blah. But $8 whole frickin' bucks?!?

I refuse to pay that much, so I bought a 10-pack of cheapie Gillettes for $7. I don't know if they'll shave worth a crud, but I'll be damned if I'm paying that for blades. Maybe it's time to grow a beard!

While I'm here, what kind of razor do you use, and why?

I've had a couple of electric razors, but they've always irritated my face something awful. I'm tempted to try it again.

I use the fusions as well... I have never bought the small pack so I never really knew what the price of the single pack was. I always bought the 4 packs from Costco and complained that they were expensive at $48. Try online you will get a better deal somewhere

                  Yep.

That's why that dude started that "Dollar Shave" club. I thought it was the strangest delivery model ever, but he priced out blades and applied the Netflix model.

I use the Mach 3, I have a stubble after a day, this may sound cheap but trust me I change a blade once every 3 months, and they are still ok. I only shave after a shower or bath, when my skin is soft. So a 6 pack would last over a year.

i have been thinking of getting a new electric razor too, the replacement cartridges for regular razors have been crazy high for a long time.

you could try BJ's though, they generally have multipacks of the refills and it might be cheaper that way. I would not use the cheapie throw away razors, they always cut me

I saw that commercial a few weeks back and kept waiting for the "gotcha" at the end. I figured it was real, but I've yet to look it up online.

I used the Mach3 before Fusion. I shave every other day, and change the blade about every two weeks. If I shave every day and leave the blade in longer, my skin looks like a topographic map.

I've been using an electric razor for 20 years; I buy replacement heads once a year, they cost $35-40. I use a pre-shave lotion, never have trouble with skin irritation.
