May I contribute something from a woman's point of view?

    I can? Thanks!

I was thinking of getting that NoNo gadget that's being hawked on TV, and I've tried just about everything.

Shaving, waxing at the parlor, infomercial goop in a tube that has to be heated up like wax, that buffing pad that they sell on TV.

Oof! So much money spent to get rid of ooky hair, and I STILL can't get rid of it permanently!

I wouldn't recommend it. It uses heat and burns the hair off.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Gillette Fusion. I can't use electrics, because they just pull my beard and don't really cut it.

I have and use almost all of them. You name it it's probably in the cabinet.Gillette fusion,Mach-II,Mach-III,Schick,sensor,bic-disposable,gillette-disposable,
the wifes razor(some pink or green one),I have three Electric razors,A stainless steel razor that takes actual blades and last but not least a straight razor.
Why do I have so Many???
They all work great.I just grab blades for what ever is on sale and go with it.I'm lucky they work I guess?
I started first shaving with a straight razor, then went to a single blade, then electric.I guess my skin has just toughened up or gotten used to diffirent items???
I do not use any type of gel either.
Any way I shave with what ever tickles my fancy in the morning.I refuse to be a prisoner of the razor corporations....LOL
For the record I also shave my head so we are talking alot of shaving here.

I'm not picky about razors - I'm currently using disposables I cleaned out of my parents' house - but I do care about the lotions, etc. My current favorite is Trader Joe's Cream Shave, which comes in a big tube. You use it like shaving cream (be sure to keep it moist). It's really slippery, and the blade (any kind of cheap blade I've tried) glides over your face. It's really nice stuff.

I have a beard, so I just use the cheapies from Aldi or whereever for the neck and sides. Use clippers to trim the rest occasionally.

I switched over to the Schick from the Fusion a few months ago due to the price increase. I have a goatee so I only have to shave the neck and sides, so each blade lasts me a month or two. I tried the disposables but I just ended up with too many nicks. I have thought about a straight razor but I am scared I will cut more than hair with it.

Whatever you, DON'T buy the store brand CVS razors. You'd have better luck shaving with a butter knife. You can't get one decent shave out of them, and it's not like I'm Bigfoot or something.

I get mach 3's from an ebay seller in Brooklyn. No problems so far.

For my face, I use a Gillette Mach 3 razor and I feel your pain about the price of blades- but I don't get a good shave from the cheap disposable razors so I pay the price.

I'm totally bald and for my scalp, I use a Headblade and Headslick gel- it's a very innovative product for those of us who are balding or choose that look.

I always wondered if electrolysis would work for a man's beard.

That's why that dude started that "Dollar Shave" club. I thought it was the strangest delivery model ever, but he priced out blades and applied the Netflix model.
I have seriously considered joining the "Dollar Shave" Club. I listen to ESPN radio in the morning, at work, and hear the ad's for them on "Mike and Mike", every day. It sounds like a great deal. Currently, I use a Mach III turbro, and those blades are so expensive. It's much less expensive to buy a new Mach III razor with two blades each time my blades dull.

Started out using a Norelco electric. I've found that it's actually cheaper to buy a new razor with the two extra blades. I also shave my head now since I don't have a lot of hair these days. Cheaper than going to Great Clips. Thinking about going back to using a Norelco. Less wear and tear on the scalp than razors.

Me, too - or maybe waxing, Nair, etc. The Mego board needs some interns for our experimentation/amusement.

Actually, the Dollar Shave Club is not a great deal. From what I understand, they're just buying and repackaging Dorco Pace blades. Cut out the middle man and buy direct:

After running out of blades for my Mach 3, I decided to give Dorco a try. Their 6 blade (!) plus trimmer is very nice; it shaves very close.

It a rotating honing stone that sharpens, as well as you store the razor head in a cup of olive oil. Bladed don't dull they become rusty from the water used.
Store it in Vodka. No oxydization/rusting and stays sharp for a really long time.Plus no oily residue from the olive oil.
