My rap interests end with the Beasties, De La Soul and Lou Reed.

All I know about wrapping is that I do a bunch of it at Christmas time.

    Same here.
To me, great music died together with Freddy Mercury. Anything after that, I don't much care for.

Like i said they were both great in their own right...Going by what they did, Tupac was the bigger star, but I have no doubt biggie would've been just as good if not better had he lived longer.....while Tupac was involved with suge knight who had deathrow records Biggie was getting a huge push from P-Diddy, so they were both going to be huge...many great rappers came out of the late 90's and 2000's , Outkast was awesome, Dr.dre, eminiem, Jay-z (lyrically probably the greatest of all time)

and now you have these stupid clowns like lil' Wayne who's a freakin scrub

Tupac was in the Digital Underground so B.I.G. would have to be pretty good to eclipse that resume bit.

But, since the question was "rapper" and not overall "artist"---guess I'll have to check out BIG after all to make an informed decision..

    Best cover song ever!

For me it's B.I.G. I'm not a huge fan, but I like his voice and I can't get into Tupac.

For me, rap ended w/ Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. Although some stuff from Arrested Development was OK. At least they had a positive message, instead of gangs and shooting and all.

    Rage Against the Machine count?

That's about the only "kinda" rap I remotely like.

Easy old dude's Rap knowledge alternates in 90's 00's and 10's order:

    Pharcyde(lesser known)/Public Enemy(pop)
    Aesop Rock(lesser known)/Outkast(pop)
    Kids These Days(lesser known)/Jay-Z (pop)
^Actually Danger Mouse's Gray album is pretty good. It's Beatles+Jay-Z mashups, including his Ice-T cover.

I was a Beastie Boys, Body Count and Mos Def man, with a side helping of Andre3000 and one or two Azealia Banks singles, so I never got into the gangster.
But then I would have responded to the question with either "Robert Johnson or Howlin' Wolf?" or "Ella Fitzgerald or Sara Vaughn?"

    I'm totally out of it

I only know Biggie and Tupac as the rappers who got killed

As far as their songs, I don't know any of theirs or any other rapper

I hate rap music - not counting some late 80's stuff
