There are two cemeteries right down the road from me. They are both connected to the local church, and I can see both of them from my house. The older one has tombstones dating back to the early 1800s.
I also lived near one in my last house.
I grew up in a haunted house, so the thought of them being outside the house doesn't phase me much.

The idea wouldn't bother me at all. Better that than a neighbor who loves playing playing Death Metal all night long.
There is a health issue, though.
In the old days, everyone would have black fillings in their teeth. These days, they usually opt for white fillings. The metal in the black fillings is damaging to your immune system. What happens in cemetaries? The corpse decays, and the fillings leak into the soil, polluting it and the ground water. So in the long term, you have a health risk..

I'd love it. My grandparents actually had a very old and creepy looking house up in PA (Archbald) that was right near a big cemetery. It's a shame they sold that place.
I also grew up in Elmont, where there is a really big old cemetery and the houses against one side are right against it. the cemetery is basically their backyard. My uncle used to swear that his friend who lived in one of the houses experienced supernatural stuff, including one time a gust of wind flew through his room and he felt something clutch his leg.Comment

I used to live in a house were there was a cemetary over the backyard fence. You couldnt ask for quieter neighbors :-) After living there for awhile I used to go over and clean off headstones and replace some where kids came out and knocked them over (some of them weighed alot a few times I had to have some friends come over to help put them back up) At first is was a little creepy but you get used to it and it made watching Night of the Living Dead and Children Shouldnt Play with Dead Things a little more interesting :-)Last edited by Wise4671; Mar 3, '13, 3:59 PM.Comment

No way, all those owls hootin' and causing a racket, and the blowing wind and church bells and those trees with their creepy hands, and the black cats hissing and fighting, and dogs howlin at the full moon, and then you have those dam skeletons dancing every night!!! nope, couldn't do it, I need my peace and quiet.Comment

Sorry can't do it!!!
Too much sadness there for me.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment
