Although I would never fail to laugh out loud at calling Carol a 'gold-digger', (I enjoy poking fun at old TV shows.) This is what these shows are for! I remember the day I realized that unless I took out Gilligan with piano wire, we was never gettin' of that island, and I was never gonna be spared living the reruns over again.
Even though I hate to stand up for the Brady Bunch, I remember seeing Carol as a real contributor to the family. Sure she had Alice, but I wouldn't want to do the house work for three kids let alone six. I remember so many episodes with Carol and Alice doing all the housework. Oh yes, she was a trophy bride, and a hard working mother. I always thought that Alice loved Carol because she didn't play the 'trophy-bride' and contributed so much to the family. There is no wrong way to see these shows. Just different views.
Dr. Bellows on the other hand, we got a real problem here! There is nothing more dangerous than a narcissistic personality disorder with a doctorate. I'm looking for the piano wire now.Comment

In the earlier episodes Dr. Bellows was more of a foil for Major Nelson. As the show went on he became more of a male Gladys Kravitz.Comment

"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

Opinions are opinion, and funny labels are funny labels, but if Carol didn't have anything of value to offer her household, she wouldn't be one of the most highly appreciated (sans sarcasm ala Peg Bundy) Moms in TV history. And that ain't a view, despite what any one viewer believes, Carol being up there in "TV Mom history" is a fact."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

As for Dr. Bellows, I'm gonna need some support here. We all know that Tony and Roger will never approve of my method of dealing with this problem. Jeannie might turn a blind eye, but I need you great members here to distract Tony and Roger for a little while. lolComment

That was not my intention... and it certainly wasn't what I posted. I am sincerely sorry, if my wording sounded a way to get you concerned."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. Never mind Dr. Bellows, what about his wife??? She was nosy, intrusive, whiney and shrill.
First she goes to Tony's house, spots Jeannie in her harem outfit and rats on Tony to Dr. Bellows about how he treats his housekeeper.
In another episode, she demands that he give her Jeannie's bottle, and whines to her husband until he caves.
Then she steals DjinnDjinn, Jeannie's dog, on account of she won't listen to Tony's explanation that he belongs to Jeannie.
In another one, she demands one of the puppies that DjinnDjinn's mate is having and they are all promised to Jeannie's relatives, but she doesn't listen.
I had no respect for that woman, and I really can't understand what Dr. Bellows saw in her.JediJaidaComment

John and Hugh...let's not get carried away...I really don't want the mods to delete this thread 'cos some folks aren't "playing nice"."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

Apologies Sharry
John had his say... I had my say... we were a bit crazy....Sharry, bless. I think it should be apparent by my sitcom passion that I like this thread a lot!
Your thread inspired a video apology to all from me... and that video inspired ME to rediscover good old Dr. Bellows.
Now that I've revisited Jeannie/Bellows, the Bellows memories come rushing back! Loved/love him!
Now that I'm older, I can sense his sarcasm too! Ha.
Here's the video... almost all Bellows, all video!
