I liked it. The only thing I had a problem with, and the audience did, was the guy in the cheap gorilla suit playing a troll, defying gravity, walking upside-down. That was a cheapie troll. But over-all a pretty good film.

Not to hijack the thread, but speaking of '80s fantasy, I streamed Dragonslayer on Netflix the other nite.. so good.

I've never even heard of it.

loved Willow. i have been waiting for the blu ray release as well. have to upgrade my old VHS copy. wish they had proceeded with the sequels. Joanne Whaley was definately a hotty back in those days. the movie had a lot of humor to it, did not take itself too seriously and had lots of fun and adventure. effects don't hold up so well but I can overlook that

I was really looking forward to Willow back when it was first coming out, following the movie's progress in the old Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine and stuff.
But I was really disappointed by it. It just didn't really seem to work on many levels.

But I keep thinking about checking out the trilogy of books written by Chris Claremont and Lucas, which continue the story of the film.

I liked the movie. I think Tonka made the figures for it. Joanne Whalley was is hot!!! The film she did shortly after was based on the British call girl scandal of the 60's. I forget the name of the film, but MaGod she is HOT!!!
Update!!! The films title was "Scandal" 1989. (Wow! how could I forget that???)

I saw Dragonslayer in the theater when it was first released. Like the special effects.
