You know, those neighbors are not entirely innocent here either.
I have seen tons of people give up senior dogs for various reasons, it's almost llike they don't want to bother taking care of pets on their twilight years, it's not easy taking care of old dogs, high vet costs, special needs, deafness, blindness, brittle bones, urinating and defecting uncontrollably, and waiting for that final day, the dreaded euthanizing day.
The percentage of other people willing to adopt older dogs decreases dramatically. Those poor dogs have almost no chance being adopted.
I'm sorry, no matter what the reasons, I have little sympathy for people who give up senior dogs.
