Hilarious movie. Good enough to earn a spot in my personal collection as I bought the combo pack the day it came out.

if you like Mcfarlane's humor you will like this. Pretty funny my 22 year old daughter had bought it and correctly thought I would love it. And the many Flash gordon references were great. Nice to see Sam jones can have fun with his iconic performance.

I watched it last weekend.. a good amount of giggles during the first half of the film, not so much the 2nd half.

I haven't seen Flash Gordon since I originally did in the 80s, and I had no clue who "Sam Jones" was.. I always thought Dolph Lundgren played Flash

Me and the wife watched the unrated version last night. Raunchy for sure, but surprisingly sweet overall, which I didn't expect.

The overall premise was pretty original, which is rare in Hollywood these days. Sure there have been "guy struggles to let go of his childish friend and grow up" movies, but not with a walking teddy bear!

The Sam Jones bits were great. I had no idea he was so prominent in the movie!

A funny, FUNNY movie. We really enjoyed it.

....and ultimately he DOESN'T have to give it all up; which is what I liked about this movie. Most films like this feature a perfectly content person who has to completely reorg his life on the prompting of others; be they friends, a mate, potential mate, whatever. (Why the guy in "The 40 Year Old Virgin" didn't smack his "friends" is beyond me....)

^Yes, good call. I enjoy "Virgin", but it makes me angry that his friends and future wife make him discard his very identity to fit in. Really horrible message, actually.

On the other hand, if Wahlberg and Ted continue to smoke pot all day and blow off work, then Milla Kunis' character is the one getting railroaded!

A thought just occurred to me....

                    SPOILER WARNING

I was listening to the Flash Gordon soundtrack, and it hit me: McFarlane missed a perfect opportunity to use the Wedding March from Flash!!! I regret missing doing that at my own wedding, although I'm sure a speedy annulment would have followed!

                        HAW! True!

                        >if Wahlberg and Ted continue to smoke pot all day and blow off work, then Milla Kunis' character is the one getting railroaded

Maybe; but it's nice to see that as the end, since it's different. I get SO TIRED of seing the usual "man being neutered" ending. That's one of the things that bothered me about "The Big Bang Theory." Penny rags on them for spending so much on the Time Machine and other gegaws, but NOBODY says anything about her shoe problems.... 'cos wimmen be shoppin'! AmIrite fellas?

'Course, it bothers me just as much that the romance in durned near EVERYTHING feels tacked on. What's the attraction between these two? They're nothing alike, their perspectives are highly askew from each other, all they do through the WHOLE FILM is complain about each other.... they probably SHOULDN'T be together. Ted's relationship with the cashier seemed MUCH healthier.
