^^^ I coulda Sworn they brought HeadBangers Ball Back,.. with a new "VJ" .. Ricky Rackman's not doing it,.. I thought a caught this a few times last yr.

          I wouldn't mind if they Just played 3 video's over & over.

Twisted Sister } "We not gonna take it"

Beasty Boys } "You gotta fight for your right to Party"

Warrent } "Cherry Pie" ,.. I can turn down the volume.

I personally was not "affected" by video's. Coulda cared less when they Came on , However I stopped whatever I was doing, & watched these as much as I could. They were the Best Video's I ever saw.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

As mentioned already, "...Eileen" was Dexy's Midnight Runners, and "Der Komissar" was by After The Fire (and also the European version by Falco).
I think the Talking Heads song you're mentioning is "Once In A Lifetime".

I greatly miss the old MTV days. I still have many many tapes from the 1980s of videos, mostly Headbanger's Ball episodes. The current attitude of tv execs is basically, "Music videos don't garner enough paying advertisers" so they've ditched it. I wouldn't even mind them playing tv shows instead, if they were actually good shows, heh. They did resurrect Headbanger's Ball for Mtv2. Don't even get me started on that one, haha, I have personal/business issues related to that. But it's at least good that they still have some sort of outlet for metal/hard rock, even if it is rather skimpy.

I honestly think the closest we're ever going to get is Vh-1 Classic. I haven't heard about that Much Music retro station thing, I'd love to see that.

That was my main place for seeing music videos in the early 1980s before I had cable and MTV. I still have the first episode of Friday Night Videos on tape somewhere.

                  Hmmmm....

Y'know what I'd rather see, instead of retro videos? NEW VIDEOS THAT DON'T SUCK! I've already seen all the old stuff, no point watching it over and over and over.

Of course, if there was a sudden proliferation of good videos (or at least NOVEL videos) they'd have to cancel "Video On Trial." I love that show.
