Yeah, you can't
Notre Dame is good, no doubt. But they will be exposed just like Kansas State and Oregon were a couple of weeks ago.
Again, there is the SEC...and everyone else. And that's just how it is until someone takes them down. And Notre Dame will not be that team.Last edited by Megospidey; Nov 28, '12, 12:06 AM.Comment

Playing any team in the SEC is a tough match-up. That's why they win the NC every year. A middle of the road SEC team plays better defense than any school out west.Comment

My dream bowl matchups:
Notre Dame vs. Alabama - Two reasons. First to prove they are for real or a pretender. The second to see coach Kelly get embarrassed on national TV.
Oregon vs. Georgia - Total offense vs. total defense. That's like putting a humidifier and a de-humidifier in a closet and let them battle it out.
Florida vs. Kansas State - I'm not overly familar with these teams but it seems like an even fight
Texas A&M vs. LSU - An unstable and overzealous coach vs. an unproven and overhyped QB.
Stanford vs. Florida State
Nebraska vs. South Carolina
Baylor vs. Indiana - I know my Hoosiers are not bowl eligible and should be division 2, but I'd like to see a team score 100 plus in a bowl game. Baylor could score 150.
I like your matchups. Esp.Florida, but unfortunately I think Florida will get Ok and Oregon will get KS.Comment

Yeah, the SEC title game was college football the way it should be played in my opinion. Great game. Kind of wish Georgia would have won.
The game I'd like to see is Bama vs. Oregon, but I'll take Bama vs. Notre Dame. Certainly not a Fighting Irish fan, but it's more fun to dislike them when they're good.
Scott, LSU beat A&M 24-19 in mid October. I'd like to see A&M and Texas in the Cotton Bowl, but the T-sippers have already vetoed that. But LSU- Oklahoma would be a fun game.
I don't want to see K-State-Oregon, but maybe it'll be decent.
There's a lot of smoke around here that Arkansas' going to hire Chris Petersen away from Boise State, but heck someone told me the Hogs were going to hire Gary Patterson Friday night at the Syracuse-Arkansas baskeball game.
I'm wondering who might take the plunge and hire Petrino. The media will murder them and the negative recruiting will be vicious, but he's a heck of a coach if you can put up with him.Last edited by madmarva; Dec 1, '12, 10:06 PM.Comment

Terry, don't be surprised to see a program like Colorado grabbing up Petrino. He's got baggage and a busted up motorcycle but I think both are looking for a fresh start and maybe some redemption. I forgot about the LSU A&M game. Maybe an Oregon vs. Georgia then. I'm anxiously awaiting the playoff system so these bowls have some sort of meaning. There's too many of them too. I think this year there is a Cracker Barrel Potoato Soup Bowl being played in Billings, Montana at a community college.
I'd actually like to see the bottom two ranked NCAA teams go at it on New Year's Day in the Liquid Plumr Toilet Bowl.I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

Going to the Cotton Bowl is getting "jerked around"? Ha. Must be nice to get jerked around when you could be getting sent to SF for the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl or Albuquerque for the New Mexico Bowl (Washington). I'd take the Cotton Bowl over the Capital One Bowl any day of the week.
Georgia played that last 30 seconds very poorly. Spike the ball on fist down with 15 seconds left and they probably have three shots at the end zone.Comment

Capital One bowl is in Orlando; the Cotton Bowl's in Dallas. Three or four of the coldest days of my life were spent in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl. I've never been cold in Orlando. Although the game is played indoors now at Jerry World, I'd still prefer Orlando.
Payout for the Cap One Bowl is better too. Now, I will say this, the Cotton Bowl does a great job hosting the teams and taking care of the media. Much better than most events run by the NCAA.
All a matter of the way you look at it, I guess.Comment

Scott, fans and media around here have always referred to the Independence Bowl in Shreveport as the toilet bowl.
Yeah, I'd like to see some playoff games this year. I still think Alabama and Oregon are the best teams eligible. I didn't watch Ohio State this year, other than ESPN highlights.Comment
