Toys as a kid that you would never admit to your friends you owned.

I was thinking about this the other day. When I was a kid we lived in an apartment that didn't allow pets. I wanted a dog so bad that I had my mom buy a Benji plush that I could pretend to feed and keep in my room. This was around 1975 and I was 7 going on 8 at the time. Among all of the Megos, Trek model kits and Evel Knevel stuff, Benji always hung out in my mom's room whenever my friends came over to the house. I also do not ever recall using any of the supergals in any of our super hero Mego adventures, but I also never remember being ashamed of those. I just think Batgirl and Catwoman just never were played with when my friends were around.

What toys did you love, but did so in silence?
    It's all good!

We had a Michael Jackson doll that my sister and I despised as kids. My mom gave it to us for a Christmas gift one year. We always hid him when friends came over.

As an adult, I will not admit to my friends that I have a McDonald's Bratz doll.

Baby Brother Tender Love when I was really small. For those who don't know, this was an anatomically correct doll, aka he had a weiner.

Dawn dolls. They were the same scale as Major Matt Mason and mom thought the astronauts needed wives.

Same here. My "collect them all" mentality made Princess of Power a must, but I felt kind of dirty about it the whole time. My friends knew I had them, but we didn't really play with them, except Bow.

That was something I wouldnt have wanted to show off to friends

I'm thinking - but I'm not sure I had any I was ashamed of. NOT because I think all my toys would have been considered cool - but because I was probably way too clueless to know any better.
