I did 3 days at the con. I love the huge crowd! It's insane! I had such a great time and I'm absolutely exhausted today.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

from what i could see around the camera crews, prices did not look to bad but i could not see what he was charding on the GI Joe and Geyper Man stuff up on the shelfComment

I had a chance to get in for free on a friends brother's dealer passes and I passed. IMHO, this show is about an "Experience" and NOT about comics, toys, and VINTAGE stuff. I've been to this show 3 times in the past...strictly to meet either other forum members here or to get autographs from Silver Age writers and artists that usually don't come to New York (Thank you Nick Cardy for coming to a New York show) At $40 + per day for tickets it's an absolute joke. I'd rather go to a Mike Carbo show, or travel 3 hours to Baltimore, then go to another Javits show ever again.
In the past I wanted to go to San Diego...but I hear that San Diego is like Javits on Super Steroids....Pass. Give me a show where I can get a community experience. More substance then flash. That's why Creation Conventions were great. How I miss them"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

I got in around 10:00AM and left around 1:00PM, mostly because my nephew was getting mood and wanted to go home. The only reason I really went, was to grab a couple of MOTUC exclusive Sorceress figures. I bought 4 and when I went back about an hour and a half later, they were sold out. The only other thing I purchased was some of those Zombie toy solider toys from EMCE (finally!) for my nephew who I took. He loves them.
Truth be told...it's kind of boring and after awhile it's not fun, but annoying trying to make it through the crowds.
I did see some cool toys, but nothing I had to buy. Prices were all over the place, but generally fair.
I MIGHT have bought some had I not bought an Eternia playset Friday night.Comment

Oh and one thing that struck me at Comic Con is the total LACK of security. No checking bags, nothing. People walking around with real weapons. They even SELL real weapons inside. That is kind of shocking for such a gigantic event in post-911 NYC.
I saw staff and such, but no real security guards and if any nut wanted to wiped out a bunch of people, that would be the place. It would be a disaster with how packed it is and seemingly nobody prepared to stop something like that.Comment

yeah, i did not see mu ch in the way of security but my son hda a large rubber sword for his costune, which of course i had to carry most of the day and they did check it and tag it as we came into the building.
i swa the guy selling knives as well and thought it strange. the bigger issue would have been if there was a fire or some other reason to evacuate the building quickly people would have been crushed in a stampede and not able to get out in anything resembling a timely manner. it took us half an hour to wait in line to get out of the main show room and down the stairs.
i only bought stuff from the EMCE booth as well. they had the NOTLD series two girls for A$5 each and the build a zombie kits for 25.00. could not resist at those prices. figure the BAZ set will be fun to do with the kidsComment

I've never been to the NYCC, but I've been to the Wizard World Philly show three times and had a lot of fun. It's more the spectacle to see for me than to buy stuff. Based on talking to a several people at the show, while it's nuts it's not nearly as nuts as the NY Wizard or ComicCon shows, and a lot of people come down to it because of that.Comment

Geyperman Training Center set was $275 complete in Box. Red Devils suit in the box was $160.
Both still available.

I went to NYC Comic Con, Have been going since the first one, this years con, was slightly better, then past shows, in the sense that the walkways were a lot bigger, in past they were narrower. I found most toys to be overpriced, even though, I did pick up some nice older figures at bargin prices. I took lots of pictures, some came out nice, some did not :( .
what disapointed me and my guest was how little was given away by the companies, in the past the booths gave away free huge Comics related promo posters, and the movie companies gave away promo posters for past/current and upcoming movies. the comic companires also had free samples of books as well as comics this year this was almost non excisting. I only picked up 5 free things in my entire 4 days, they were From DC Comics -A free Batman 1, Wonder Woman 1, Flash 1, an Arrow TV show Promo poster and Small Promo double sided poster of Ironman comic from Marvel. This was a huge disappointmet and change from past years. I also noticed that the Comic Companies now seem to be concentrating more on selling their Toys, Video Games and Trades. Its a sad change.
Someone, Please ask me about THE SUPER ALOOY JIM LEE NYCC EXCLUSIVE BATMAN FIGURE.........Comment
