    New York Comic Con

I got my tickets a little while ago, AFTER the deadline to get then sent. So I have to print out the confirmation and go to the "pick-up" window or whatever day of the show.

Never been to Comic Con. Worried because I am going Sunday which is only 11 to 5.

Anyone gone and have experience as far as the lines go? Would suck to sit on a line for most the day.

I've never been to NY Comic Con but I've been to Fan Expo Toronto many times. It's usually very busy which is why I like Sunday the best. The crowds are a lighter compared to Saturday. Also I find you're going to get more deals from vendors as they don't want to go home with a lot of stuff. Have fun!

It depends when you get there. As you can imagine, first thing in the morning there's going to be long lines just to get in the door. It moves fairly fast however. A couple hours into it, the line is non-existent.
I'm not going to lie, last year the line circled around the building (and it's a big building!), but it moved pretty fast, and it was fun to see all the costumes of the people in line.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

I purchased my tickets after the deadline to have them mailed....yet they came in the mail today! I was just on the site and was going to ask about lines on NYCC facebook.

          Weird!

I wonder if EMCE will be showing anything new this year?

                Almost time.

For those who have been there. What can be expected in regards to vintage toys? I heard there is some serious price gouging. Like naked Megos for $100+

I never realized that the NYCC was in October.

just got back....have to say that although there was a lot of cool stuff and costumes to look at, I doubt I woulde ever go again. the crowds were so bad you could barely move in there. lot's of hotties though.

also, finally got to meet the good doctor at his booth. have been buying from Paul for years and years and traded many, many emails but never actually met face to face. that was pretty cool. always good to put faces to names.

also Adam West was not there as scheduled today....not sure why, not that i mattered, the lines to meet the celebs were like 2 hours long.....the line to meet Tom felton was the longest and then when they set up for the photo op with him it more than doubled

Yeah, I went to NY ComicCon a couple of years ago, but I would, probably, not go again. It's just way too crowded in there. You cannot stop to really enjoy or look at anything.

Same here went a few years back, got to meet some folks from MM and Marty was there (way cool).

However it was too crowded and not much in the way of vintage toys. Fun to see all the costumes and buzz, but I doubt I will go again.

IMG_4037.jpgyeah, a couple venders had some Mego's and some had 6MDM, Flash Gordon, RA heroes etc.....some charged too much, some had good prices. did not see any Mego's I needed. the Toy hunter booth from our own hollywood heroes had some neat vintage toys but everytime i went over to get a better look there was a camera crew there filing for one thing or another. i know G4 was there filming at one point
