"I talked to my friend and he told me that his collection was that- his collection. He was entitled to have them, he worked hard for them, and he deserved to be able to keep them and not have to sell any to help with any household/medical expenses. The only possible reason for selling any of them would be to pay for something different to go into the collection or simply because they didn't want that item anymore- but the $ from the sale of it would be kept separate and only go back into the collection in the future."
In light of the situation this is an absolutely ridiculous statement."Time to nut up or shut up"-Tallahassee

WOW. What an incredibly selfish person. A lot of collectors have issues, and thats why they collect. This guy has huge issues. How does a guy like that ever get married. Sickness and health? Dude sell the darn Peyton Manning Rookie card and get the wife her medicine. I could never live with myself knowing my wife was in pain and I could have done something to lessen it.
On the lighter side, Hector don't be so quick to sell that mustang. It may not be necessary, and you may need to drive to the hospital to visit. Mustangs are not collectibles...they are family members. (JK)Comment

This should not even be a question. I recently did have to sell almost my entire collection. And it is much more fun buying it back now. It was never a non possibility. When the time came that we had no savings left. Stuff had to go.Comment

Personally, I would never, could never, think I 'deserved' possessions more than my spouse deserved their physical and mental well-being. What I thought was going on was the thought never occurred to him (like total mental block-brain fart) to sell a few things to help, but then I talked to him and uh-uh that wasn't the case.Comment

Right now her thinking is on the same lines. But he swears that's not the case.

No. More like she's another item in his collection, and they both just learned her value.Comment
