I went on it and I hated it. This is how I look at it...if you want to know what I had for breakfast, call me on the phone. -

My point in this post is; Considering the addictive nature and slow, assimilation process could it be possible that facebook is the start of a Borg / Matrix hybrid that will one day lead to the fall of man? It's almost like its the technological serum that will eventually turn almost all humans into zombies.

A couple guys at work are like teenage girls over FaceBook, ooooooohhhh he's my friend, or look what I'm going to do for lunch,or I'm here now. The car commercial about the girl saying she has all these friends on Face Book and she's just sitting at home, but she's worried about her parents. And then they show them having a great time on the beach is perfect I think. If you spend more time doing, and less time worring about what someone else is doing, or braging about this or that, this world might be just a little bit better!
Way to step away and regain your freedom my friend, good for you indeed!Leave a comment:

I've slowed down to a mere inconceivable trickle, but only because I've got nothing important to say and nuthin's happening in my life. The outdoors spiders didn't grow big enough to me to photograph in super-micro detail and post to gross everybody out this year.
I'm chained to it and always will be, because it's the only contact I have with friends/family who've moved or old message board friends. I do check it everyday to 'like' their stuff and make sure none of them have imploded.
oh, and the Zuma Blitz game is like crack.
I would say yes to this.My point in this post is; Considering the addictive nature and slow, assimilation process could it be possible that facebook is the start of a Borg / Matrix hybrid that will one day lead to the fall of man? Self imposed facebook ban.
So I'm day two and a half out from my Labor Day weekend self imposed ban from facebook and you know what? I think I like the none fb way of life better. So much so I'll be hard pressed to get back into the mix with it for work on Tuesday.
It's amazing how terribly addicting that platform is. And outside of business contacts and a very rare and occasional need to contact someone that you don't normally converse with any way, I don't see much use for the place. I've never played a game and only downloaded one app which was 1. due to ignorance on what I was clicking and 2. the darn thing knocked down my computer (crashed is too strong a word but it was a pain in the butt).

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm? In the end I do feel kinda stupid having gotten caught up in such a brilliant marketing research / data phishing scheme. Touche Zuckerburg, touche.
