Many moons ago my old man was a town cop for a short time.

My mom said he quit because he hated giving out tickets

He liked being a farmer much better --- less tickets

    True story

After spending 6 months on the grand jury I am convinced that every time a cop is behind me (or anyone else) they are running your plate. Not that I have anything to worry about but make sure every light is working on your car including the license plate light. They will look for any reason to pull you over and start searching. I used to like the police but not after all that I heard and saw. I wish I was never chosen to serve on that jury. I will NEVER look at the police the same way again.

That was because you're in SF

If you were in some hick area's of Pensy she would have called in for backup and 4 huge rednecks would have wrastled you to the ground ... just for the papers ... no kidding

    Not from my experience.

I was once caught speeding (long time ago) by a California Highway Patrolwoman...and when she stopped me (this was just before entering the Bay Bridge from San Francisco to Oakland)...she asked for my registration...I couldn't find it...but realized it was in my glove compartment.

When I opened it...there was a packet of Zig-Zag's (yeah, that kinda paper, lol)...I got really nervous...and she said..."you are not smoking and driving, are you?"

I said, "no officer, those are not mine, they are from a friend!"

She said, "riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight..." And then she LAUGHED...I was bewildered to say the least.

Anyway...she walked to her patrol car, made a background check on me...came back to my car...and said, "I know you are not under the influence of marijuana, because that causes people to drive slower, not faster, and you were going pretty fast...I'll just give you a warning, just please slow down a bit"...then she laughed again...and went back to her patrol car...I couldn't believe my luck, lol.

Absolutely a true story...I'm not making this up.

I used to...but I rarely ever see a police (city, county, state) out in my immediate area. I never see them with anyone pulled over. It explains why we have so many traffic accidents and speeding out of control.

Nope. I figure if one is behind me for an exorbitant amount of time, I may have a light out or something, which ain't no big thing. The route I take to work is littered with motorcycle cops, so I always drive the speed limit or about 3 mph over.

Yeah, they have no problem with themselves or their spouses breaking traffic laws. In fact, they have stickers they put on their on vehicles so they know not to pull each other or their spouses over. Finding that out kinda bugged me, but what are you gunna do. I guess their jobs put them in a danger the average citizen seldom faces, so maybe no traffic tickets is a perk for them I can live with.

Back in the day I driving at night .... A car going the opposite way blinds me with their high beams ... I flash mine on as a signal for them to turn theirs off ... The car instead puts on his roof lights (it was a cop) and turns around to get me ... No way am I going to pay a ticket because of this jerk ... I spead up and then ducked in a driveway and he passed by (luckily it was night)...

Besides a certain Mego Museum member, I never met a cop that I liked
