What's the loudest concert you've ever attended?

My friend and I saw Green Day at the Olympic Auditorium back in '95. For those non L.A. residents, the Olympic was known for being a small/intimate venue for boxing events. Not sure what those (American) idiots were thinking, but they loaded up the place with enough speakers/amps to blow-out the Rose Bowl. I've attended many a concert in my time, but that was the only time when I left with ringing ears. My friend's equilibrium was so thrown off that he almost fell down a flight of stairs. Truly an assault on a couple of senses.

    Anyone here experience something similar?

Melvins when they were doing a small venue tour in the tail end of the 90's.
4 svt cabinets and 4 full marshall stacks in a small cement room. 300 person room, I think it was stuffed to 500. I ran monitors that night; if you could call it that. My ears didn't ring, but my teeth throbbed.

The loudest I personally remember were this local band called Dakota Son back in the 80s...they played at San Francisco State's auditorium...and they were so loud...that half the audience got up and left...it didn't help that they kinda sucked too...lol.

Of the big arena rock bands...I remember The Who and Queen as being really loud...but in a good way of course.

                        Cool thread!

I saw hundreds of bands in the 90's, but the loudest was definitely Gwar at the Toronto concert hall. I wasn't a huge fan of the music but went for the theatrics, they didn't disappoint. However I couldn't tell one song from another. It was completely overwhelming and my ears rang for weeks afterwards.

runners up would be KARP (the singer of which is now a member of the Melvins), and GODHEADSILO (another Melvins influenced band) and MINISTRY (w/Helmet and Sepultura), (the only concert I ever saw at Maple Leaf Gardens).

That was an old skool joke. Les used to say that all the time. Take a listen to Suck on This again and you will find it.

I was probably 19 or so and went to see KISS and Faster Pussycat opened for them. Where we sat we were fairly close to some of the speakers and none of us could hardly hear anything except buzzing/ringing the whole ride home. I worked retail and had to open the next morning which was a Sunday. I couldn't hear the intercom when people were using it, LOL...

That same concert we were walking in and saw several people being taken out all bloodied because they fell from a balcony before the concert started....
