We have mostly tube sets in our house. My brother-in-law couldn't stand that we wouldn't move onto a flat screen, so he bought us one. I have no intention of getting rid of the tube sets. They work perfectly fine. Our bedroom set is going on 27 years old. I bought it used from a friend in '93.

I have a 10+ year old Sony Trinitron tube TV that still works perfectly. Those things are tanks, and were among the best tube TVs you could get, I don't have the heart to get rid of such a good old TV. And analog video sources like my laserdisc player look better on that than they do on any of my HDTVs.Comment

I know, right!? I love that design era. We're not the only ones:
I have a tube tv too. It's a giant wall of a sony trinitron, I forget the actual screen size but it's kind of ridiculous in how big and heavy the thing is. Damn thing takes three people to lift.
I've been flirting with picking up one of these for modding in a panel display though:
Thinking like, a dedicated NES thing or something. It would be cool if the neck post were taller/longer and it came from a pod base to store the game system in. Kind of a Flcl retromod look.Comment

I just got a 1968 Quasar Color TV in a wood cabinet with the feet and all. I've got to take a picture of it. It looks brand new. My plan is to hook and old NES up to it (actually a retrobit) and use it as a dedicated game TV."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

I have a Zenith console from '81 that still gets occasional use...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

2005 Hurricane Charley replacement TV. Got it just before all the new flat panel stuff hit. Before that I had Grandma's mid 80's console TV. It got soaked after the roof went and lost sound. Insurance paid for a new one and a stand since the console was its own stand. You must try to generate happiness within yourself.
