wow, I thought he died long ago.

He was also the bully on Andy Griffith --- and I think he had a recuring role on Alice.

I think remember him from Sgt. Bilko and of course The Brady Bunch and The Andy Griffith Show. He got around in many TV shows. RIP Mr. Melvin.

That's sad. He was such a fixture of retro TV. RIP Allen.

The long time Liquid Plumber spokesperson? Wow, I didn't know he was still alive.

Anybody remember him as a Gambling computer on Lost in Space?

I never realized he was Magilla Gorilla's voice.

Heck, I think he played a bully on Andy Griffith at least twice. Both times terrorizing Barney.

He was always Sam the Butcher to me. That's where I first noticed him.

Another great utility character actor gone.

                      Andy Griffith

He was great in the episode where he was terrorizing Barney. Barney was so scared that he would not be seen in public without his uniform on, and all this was over a ticket Barney wrote him for sweeping trash into the street. At least Barney was taking karate lessons in Mt. Pilot.

"Stop that fight, that man kill Barney"

He was also great as Sam the Butcher. Last time I checked Alice was still alive, even though I have not seen her in anything lately.

I remeber him as Sgt. Carter's nemesis on Gomer Pyle too . . .
I just watched an Andy Griffith episode with him as an escaped convict
He was a grea tone indeed
