I had moon boots, but in the winter time with snow on the ground, they were actually a practical shoe.

I love my moon boots. They are in my closet still, but I dont wear them much anymore. My son usually beats me to them. Very practical, they come a[part when they get wet, and you can pop the inserts in the dryer, and twenty minutes later...toasty warm and ready to go back out. Mine tore on the toe of one, but I hot glued it shut. I jhave had the same pair since I was 15. THats twenty seven years of use. I'd say I got my money out of them, now they are moving on to a second generation...lol

I've never been to the moon, so I didn't see the real need...

Aww yeah! I used the heck outta those.

We lived up in the mountains where it snowed heavily each year, those were the only things that would do....plus they were bouncy!

Ours had elastic at the top to keep the feet dry and warm, but occasionally we'd have to interrupt the playfun with the eventual 'empty out', where too much snow got inside the rim & they had to be taken off & shaken out, but really there were just no other shoes you could go tromping about with and not freeze your toes off in or get wet.
I wish I had an adult pair now.

Dude, that totally kept happening when the snow got about a foot deep and icy on top. *PLOK* ....running with one foot in a sock in the cold deep snow. Then I'd have to sit my butt in the cold snow to put the boot back on after dusting off the caked-on sock.
          DOH' did not like.
