That was one of the strangest races I can remember. And it technically latest for two days. Danica can't catch a break getting wrecked so early on. Glad to see she was able to at least get back out there and get some experience behind the wheel.

I have to say, taking out the jet dryer was a new concept in wrecking I had not considered. I was just glad Stewart manage to finish 16th. With all the wrecks, it felt like a badge of honor just to cross the finish line.

I was interesting, to say the least. I turned on the race at about the halfway point, so I only got to watch for a while before the fire. Wow. I'm glad Messrs. Montoya & Barnes are OK so I don't feel bad about enjoying the mayhem . 200 gallons of jet fuel: again, wow! I'm impressed that they got the race restarted, but probably would've preferred it if they'd stopped it during the delay. I would have enjoyed it more if a bunch of newbs placed in the top 5 .

That was without a doubt the weirdest Daytona 500 I've ever seen in my 22 years of watching NASCAR.

I don't agree with the new rule not allowing the drivers to speak to one another. It makes the race too dangerous, which in turn causes too many wrecks, which in turn keeps the race running longer while everyone watches the clean up. No one hardly made a move at the end because everyone was too scared to wreck and lose their spot. It took away the competitiveness at that track. Drivers just wanted to finish the race in one piece.
