2012 Urban Safari Hunting Hauls (Garage Sale, Thrift Stores, Craigs, Rummage...)

I don't have any, but I really like Mars Attacks toys. They just have that kooky alien vibe.
I'd be putting that Woody away in a nice dry closet and sitting on it for a few more years, Even as big a hit as it was, seems to me that the early Pixar stuff is going to be collector's gold when the people that were kids when it came out hit their 30's.

I hit PAYDIRT today!!!!

I went to an estate sale that started today instead of Friday.

For $5, I bought a huge box of vintage barbies with tons of vintage clothes and accessories. For another $5, I bought 61 pulpbooks called "Science Fiction Analogy", for $2, I bought two very old wood shaft putters, for $10, I bought three HIGH DOLLAR, like-new tennis rackets (Head & Prince), and for $16 total, I bought Pete Maravich's Junior and Senior yearbooks from LSU!!!

I am expecting betwen $500-$700 on my return!!!

If you didn't see my post a few post back, I found a box today of vintage Barbie dolls and clothes. Turns out, one of the outfits in the box sells on eBay for over $700 and I have almost the entire outfit. The hat alone sells for $250, and I have a mint one.

That's crazy. A few years back I bought a bunch of old Barbie/Skipper dolls/clothes off a lady. It was actually kinda fun figuring out what went with what. While I didn't have anything quite that valuable, the outfit certainly proved to be worth a considerable amount more than the dolls. GREAT PICK_UP!!

I'm on a roll this weekend. I bought three high dollar tennis rackets at the same estate sale that I go the Barbies from. I paid $10 for the three rackets, got home and found $10 in the side pocket of the racket case!!! I've already sold all thee rackets for $70!!!

Nothing great today. Woke up too early for an Estate Sale (they had a Thingmaker I wanted). I missed it by seconds, as I tried to be a human being and not trample over people. I guess nice guys do finish last.

I also saw not one, but TWO near fist fights!

I picked up a complete set of Marx Presidents today for $7.50 at an auction. Not a home run, but a nice hit.

Craigslist score today. Found it in the FREE section. Saw just the Joe vehicles and some baby toys.

But I didn't know till I got home that in the bottom of one of the boxes was THIS:

Remember when yard saling, it always pays to be nice. While my wife looked at some stuff, I sat and talked with the very nice lady that was running the yard sale. After a discussion about what I look for at yard sales, she was nice enough to let me browse through some stuff she had stored in her shed and hadn't thought of putting out for sale. This is the better stuff but only about 1/3rd of the box. I also got a mint G1 Transformers Steeljaw cassette which I had the accessories for. He is already on his way to ebay. Total layout $15.
