I really cannot help. I found one a few months ago. It sold for $175 and it was in worst condition than yours. I would just study "#3 ponytail barbie". Mine was dated 1963 on her butt. I didn't know it was a #3PT, others on ebay told me.

You aren't kidding. For a guy that's been into toys as long as I have you'd think I would have gotten a grasp on it by now. I've actually had a few nice Barbie hits and all by dumb luck. I can tell the difference between the remakes but I'm sure I've passed on some that were higher priced than my normal comfort zone that were steals.

That IS some pretty neat stuff there. The tin wind-ups/battery and the guns are pretty cool!

When stuff like this happens, it sucks the fun and enjoyment right out of it and I am not waking up crack of dawn every weekend to get ****ed off and deal with the nonsense.

I try to be respectful and end up losing. He told me the sale started at 11:00AM, so from 10:45 I sat in the car, not at the end of his drive way or anything. Guy seemed like the type who didn't like early birds, so I tried to be as cool as I could.
I can understand why you get mad. I've only had that happen twice, and luckily it was for stuff I didn't really care about. But if was for something I really wanted, I'd be livid for a few days at least. It's hard to find the stuff we really dig locally, and it's totally uncool when we're respectful and playing by the rules, then some ****** comes along using family members like barricades or swoop in early and buy everything. It can be quite helplessly frustrating.
Just try and think about the times when you got some super-sweet scores and mabye it'll take the sting off a little.

You know, I see comic collections posted on Craigs (or at g-sales) alot around here, but I'm not a comic collector so I don't bother. Who knows if that stuff would have something someone here would really want. We should start a Craigs section in the Trade subforum to tag-team or something...

    Today SUCKED.

I've posted a lot of complaints about sales in the past, but today was THE WORST.

I saw a garage sale on CL mentioning comic books along with some pictures. Had an Amazing Spider-Man #300, 12 cent Dare Devil, etc.

I got to the sale 2 HOURS before it started and left and came back on and off until I saw the guy setting up like 45 minutes. My dad I mentioned the comics and asked for first shot. Guy said sure, if we stick around. So we waited in the car outside the house. As soon as he brought the comics out, I noticed the heavy set girl and her kids across the street get out and start heading towards the drive way. So we got out right away. At first she was looking at kids clothes for a few seconds, so I thought "ah, OK...comics are mine". AS SOON as I started walking to them, she made a bee line and had her kids on each side holding hands. We couldn't get around her. She actually USED her kids as a blockade.

I started flipping through this. This animal offed the guy $100, he said "let me count", she said how about $200.

    Done.

I just left. ****ed at myself more, maybe. I should of spoke up. I didn't wait 2 hours to have some scumbag tactic used on me like that and that guy DID say I'd get first shot.

    PEOPLE SUCK. THEY SUCK.

Here's some pickups from yesterday and today. Most of this stuff lies outside of this boards toy interest but thought I'd show some pictures anyway. Yesterday me and buddy drove one and a half hours to hit a rural hoarders house and then today a contact of mine who finds stuff for me gave me a call...Big cap gun is a Mustang 500, fairly desirable gun. Lionel set looks complete circa late 50s/early 60s. Lot of this stuff is out of my wheelhouse but it was cheap enough so it's hard to pass up.....
