Holly was a true musician and songwriter...Elvis was a great performer and singer...let's call it even then...

    That's a fair assessment.

Holly was 22 and Valens was 17...are there even two credible musicians today that age? Just to put that in perspective, if a plane crash like that happened today the two most famous musicians that age right now would be David Archuleta (22) and Justin Bieber (17). Yikes!

Almost had it right. Waylon gave his seat up to Bopper who had the flu.

Back in college i was a communications major, our professor dedicated almost a full 2 weeks on the study of how much that crash affected music then and today. Still can't stand the song to this day cause of that.

Gee, thanks for the info...I'm gonna sell my entire Superman collection (and my Mustang)...and just dedicate myself to be one of Bieber's most faithful groupies...I will buy all his CDs...download everything of his, from iTunes...and attend every single one of his concerts....which will of course include flights and hotel reservations.

Thanks a TRILLION, Damian...I have finally seen the Bieber light...
