You would think that now that most people have camcorder tech on their mobile phones that there would be more hard evidence of ET activity by now.

Yeah - that's the exact thing that finally made me dismiss UFOs as being E.T. It's not logical to me that every image of a UFO happens to be fuzzy. Not when most people are walking around with cameras in their pockets now.

With digital cameras UFO sightings have increased - but the quality of images always remains the same. It supports the idea that UFOs are simply created from a lack of a clear view - not that UFOs always create unclarity.

Some light from Mars refracted off Venus. Now look right here and everything will be OK.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I'm of the firm believe that the military tests far more things than we know about (they'd have to). The only way to test things that fly is to launch them in the sky. Someone is bound to see something.

I am now about 90% sure I witnessed the air force launching a satellite. It came from that exact location and it was around that time.

I think we solved this!? Thanks guys. That was neat to see. What I still do not understand was how it took off so quick after all, it is the object "taking off" that you see in that photo...

I've seen strange lights in the sky of Florida myself.

I would say at least 80% of them are military based. I still wonder about the other 20% though.

It could have just been an optical illusion (maybe from your point of view it appeared to be moving slower or faster) based on a lot of different variables (moving horizontal may appear slower than moving vertical), looking at it compared to the horizon, the atmosphere, etc.

Yeah. I'd say it was something military. There's tons of satellite launches, test flights for experimental craft and other stuff they never tell us about.

I'll ask the wife if there were any flight restrictions listed for yesterday, maybe she can find something. Was it coming from Canaveral?

                            Cool!

It's weird though, because I checked out a couple of YouTube videos of the launch, and the rocket didn't seem to leave much of a trail like the image you posted. (I couldn't sleep much last night, and geeked out about this for a bit to pass the time.)

Though - the video I saw was of the actual launch off the ground, so maybe it left a trail when it was further in the air - or maybe your angle of view had something to do with it - light reflecting off the moon or other lights differently than the people standing more directly under it...

All the video I saw were just civilian witnesses using little commercial video cameras - so I'm now thinking the cameras probably weren't that great at shooting in the dark. They probably had them on auto - so the cameras adjusted for the brightness of the take-off and boosters and didn't pick up the trail.

Watching another Delta 4 launch video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34NTYr8e7RE

I'm thinking the sudden break you saw where the speed changed might have had something to do with when the rocket engine breaks away from the front of the rocket in segments. Each has it's own thruster ignition after the other boosters break away. Does that work with what you saw?
