Terrible news. It's a hard thing to have to go through. Hang in there.

Very sorry to hear that.
Our dogs are both rescues, they're 12 and 13 now, so saying goodbye is becoming a reality.
15 years ago, both our dogs died within 24 hours of each other (due to totally unrelated illnesses, a stroke and kidney failure).
I always take comfort in the fact that they lived a happy life in a loving home..

Giving a rescue, whether it's a dog, cat, horse, bird or whatever, a happy loving home is one of the noblest things that we, as humans, can do. Animals, especially our pets, are like cleaner, purer, more unconditional reflections of ourselves, unsullied by greed, treachery or any of the other vices humans so often acquire throughout their lives. Animals always remain innocent.....

Quite the handsome crew you've got there, Bluebird. At one time, there were seven rescued dogs in my household (they have all since passed on to the great beyond, all peacefully, thank God) and now there are 10 rescued cats taking up their spaces (and creating even bigger shedded-hairballs!).Comment

Nick, I really do regret to hear of your recent lost.Pets to me are like family. It saddens me when one is lost. At least you have the pictures and the wonderful memories of the good times that you and Sadie shared with the rest of your loving family.
Thank you for giving a rescue animal a loving caring home and a second chance at life. You did the best that you could and I am sure that Sadie knew this as well.
R.I.P SadieEnjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

I know your pain, and sympathize with your loss. A good pet is one of the best things about life in my opinion. They are such a great friend. They never judge you, (unless you forget their dinner), they are there for you day and night, for better or worse and all they ask in return is a warm place to sleep, some food and and good itching here and there. Dogs Rule. Cats are fun too. Don't try to replace her, just wait for the right dog to succeed her."Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."Comment

Sorry to hear that, pal. My mom had to put her dog down last moth--he was getting dementia and would try to attack her from out of nowhere, it was like he had forgotten who everyone was on occasion. It was tough for her, but a wise decision. I'm sorry Sadie's no longer with you--she looks like a sweetheart.Comment
