I took this arty chick I was dating to see Mortal Kombat. I have no idea what I was thinking.

I took my wife to see Sex and the City. The movie was bad, really bad, but even she cringed at the horrible previews that were playing before the movie. I don't know if it was all one movie or several but it included ABBA, a search for someone's father and Greece. That one or two or four previews was/were excruciating even when compared to three hours of horrible writing that was the movie. At least Sex and the City mentioned Vivienne Westwood and I had a slight moment of connection.Comment

No movie has ever embarrassed me; however, I have been embarrassed for some of the actors and actresses on the screen. Bad acting is bad acting and a terrible script does not help; Phantom Menace was unbearable."Procrastination is the art of planning for tomorrow."Comment

She got me back when I went to visit her in Montreal, took me to see this, by telling me Harvey Keitel was in it:
To vlemma tou Odyssea (1995) - IMDb
It's Greek, and I watched it with french translations. I don't read french, at all.
You see the run time on that Bill? 176 minutes.
Stayed for the whole thing.Comment

no, why should I be embarressed about a movie. I have cringed, laughed at the absurdity and even walked out, but never been embarressed.Comment

I look at it this way, if I see a movie and it sucks then all i have lost is my 2 hours and maybe $10 but I rarely go to theaters anyway and when I do it is not likely to be a sucky movie.
i never feel embarressed watching a movie, although I will admit I have been emabarressed for the actor on occasionComment

Well, I wasn't the one embarrassed - but my dad was....no, more like mortified!
In 1978 he took his 8 year old (me) with him to see...ANIMAL HOUSE!!
He had no idea it would be as raunchy as it was. He told me later how embarrassed he was that he brought me with him to see it not realizing the full extent of a National Lam****s movie.
Having a 7 year old son at the moment, I can really relate now.
For my part, I enjoyed the movie and thought most of it was really funny- except a few parts I had to have him explain to me- like the rubber gloves in the convertible and Belushi dumping mustard on himself- and it was a few years before I really understood Belushi on the ladder at the sorority house scene.
My own personal embarrassment came not at the theater but home when I rented Three Kings (Three Kings (1999) - IMDb) to watch with my grand parents- not realizing just how course the language was...I could practically hear my grandparents cringing with every F-bomb and couldn't wait for the movie to end.Comment

Well back in 83 I begged my dad to take me to see YOR THE HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE. Of course he took me to see it and immediately after the movie I remember him saying "That was a dumb movie". I could tell he was embarrassed seeing that movie but I of course even as a 9 year old saw its cheesiness but still liked it.
Nowdays I like the cheesiness!Comment

I think it was Save the last dance for me with Julia Styles and we had some of my friends young sisters in law with us , one scene got me worried and then watching jodie foster get naked in Nell with some other ladies present."Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of DoomComment
