Alright which one of you guys/gals out there has stopped eating your share of Twinkies?

I seen this on the news today. That was kind of surprising to me.

Why doesn´t Hostess go back to what worked? Get with the peanuts comic strip again and do the Hostess pies with the Charlie Brown and the gang on them. Start Promoting Twinkie the kid again. I for one would start buying them again JUST because of that.

Always made my mom buy hostess chips when we were kids. However have been eating only miss vickies since they came out. Hostess should have tried out a kettle chip.

Living in Mexico at the Monster Cafe...Yeah I know...Cheap plug...We have what is known as Tiendas on EVERY corner. Little shops selling soda etc. I always go down and get a few Bimbos now and then...

Would be interesting but according to the article, its mostly the union issue they need to overcome. None of the other confectionery manufacturers deal with unionized employees, only Hostess.
There were two Hostess manufactures here in Seattle and one closed down and the other is barely viable.
Been seeing more Mexican Bimbo products popping up in major supermarkets as well. I'm not complaining, I grew up on that stuff like Gansitos and Submarinos.

There are 3 Bimbo bakeries outside Seattle so it would make sense for them to come in and buy Hostess which has the plant IN Seattle, but of course they would again, have to deal with the union issue.

I'll be sad to see Hostess disappear, IF they do, but some of that stuff really isn't healthy this day and age. Why buy pre-processed when you can get fresh from the local mom-pop bakery.

Don't get me wrong, but if Hostess disappeared, I think Little Debbie would just dominate (at least in some regions), since they make a lot of similar products.

Hostess is better IMO, though!

Just saw a spoof ad on TV where Hostess begs them to legalize marijuana so people will get the munchies and restore Hostess' bottom line. Pretty funny actually.
