Pretty much the same story here. I just do not understand why we can see that, but those that are managing for better lack of term does not. They must be wearing rose colored glasses and see something that we don't.

My Dad and I go to the Hot Wheels Collector Day at the Kmart in Auburn when it's held (the next one is in Feb). It's on the list. Kinda sad

The cloest Kmart is in Prattville (about 30 miles away). I go every so often, espeically looking for exclusives like the DC Batman Legacy Batman and Batmite (which I STILL haven't found).

As much as I love the place for notalgic reasons; I really don't buy much there.

Poor K-Mart getting a bad rap. Sears didn't buy K-Mart, K-Mart bought Sears.

Our Kmarts up here in Canada were turned into Zellers years ago (and many of those will probably eventually close or turn into Targets) but I don't even bother going to the Kmarts remaining near me over the border in the US anymore. They are kinda dark, dirty and scary.

The Kmart in Prattville was destroyed by a tornado probably 3 or so years ago. People wondered if it was going to be rebuilt since stores had started closing then. But Kmart backed it and rebuilt it. It's a nice looking place now.

The Sears we have is one of the anchoe stores in our mall (and has been since the mall was built). It's kept up pretty well and is a nice store to shop in. We go a few times a year.

Same exact thing here....I was in there (Kmart) on Black Friday and the floor looked like a war zone...discolored, uneven tiles and huge pock marks and craters all over. Seemed like bombs had been dropped...

I don't see how the KMart in my town was spared...

Seriously, it's the K Mart of the living dead.

It's where old retail employees go to die.

Sad. I have many fond memories of visiting the Sears toy departments as a kid.

Me to. I just found out today that the very same Sears that I was hoping they would not close is going to close. Not that I really have shopped there in a very long time, but I still hate to see it go for economy purposes.

That should pretty much finish off what was rest of that mall. The whole mall has been fading away a couple of stores or so at a time each year. Sears was the anchor for that particular mall. Ohh well. At least I still have the great memories.

No stores are closing close to me. I feel bad for all the workers who will now be jobless.
